They don't compensate for the lack of permanent items. I heard Maggie was added to the game permanently, but without the mini-game,

Not sure I agree with this, if anything the business model of EA has changed to give us MORE opportunities for donuts. To give us several new avenues to get donuts, and deliberately close another doesn't make sense to me.

As previously noted, I suspect that the next update is something unusual, and perhaps some technical issues are holding back the release date.

Very good point about level updates being permanent additions, while these events (mini or not) offer limited time items. EA could very well consider the latter to be preferable because people are more tempted to spend (and buy) donuts for limited time items, as opposed to Barney. They offer Barney in that one deal making him limited time with a skin and a rebate and there you go. They probably wish that all of the premium offers were limited time. Yes, doomsday prediction says no more levels. I just wish they'd finish off the levels at an even number. 60 or preferably 100. (The bonus levels will have painfully high XP goals by then. So, I also don't wish for this.)

OP- I agree with you. Also these mini events don't add permanent decos, which we really really need.

Also we have not had friend point prizes in a very long time. The only time I have seen them is with a new level update.

I feel like over this time of year, the level updates are more rare. They seem to kick up during the Spring/Summer and die out in the Fall.

I'm thinking the level updates are getting rarer and rarer as the pool of characters continues to shrink. I'm well aware there are still 100s of characters to add - however, the well known characters are in a much smaller pool.

I also think that we may see a level update during this event. Whether it's Act 2 or Act 3 - I'm thinking this event is a candidate for level update, since it's been dry for 4 months. They occasionally do level updates during events, so this might be one of those times.

This happens every year. In the beginning of the year we don't get many level updates, people complain, we get a bunch of level updates over the summer, people are happy, then the cycle repeats again. Just be patient they will come eventually. Also I don't see the difference between limited time and permanent premiums. Also one last thing if I had to guess I say level 60 is coming during this event so the new players will have something to do to do as well, then I would't expect level 61 to hit until around April to Mayish.

New players aren't usually far enough to work on the last level. Many times they lack all the characters needed to earn prizes on these mini-events. It is better to have M0na (or whoever) waiting there for you.

About extra donuts - Yes, EA has given us more sources to earn donuts with the Maggie game, the Rail-yard and now the Daily Challenges box. These are appreciated. But there are people out there is $250 million of in-game cash that they can turn to donuts by buying items with high XP, the XP Collider makes that much more convenient and profitable.

About running low on Characters - This Casino event will speculatively release 5 new taskable characters, Valentines Mini Event released M0na and Becky, Much Apu About Nothing released Jay, the Winter Event released 8 new characters, 8! I think they still have new characters to give, and when they really run out, they can also go to this forum can PM Deadshot.

There has to be a reason for the 4 month gap in Level Updates, longest before this was 2 and a half months, if not to prevent long time players with $200+ million from cashing in donuts, then what? Of course this is my opinion, but I can see from the business side where EA would want to prevent people from getting free donuts.
