With only six possible outcomes, unusual patterns like you're witnessing are also more likely, to the point it seems unlikely. But if it's still random in the largest sample set, then it's just interesting visuals. - 4junk30007 years agoNew SpectatorCONSIDER ALSO THIS: of the six numbers listed above,
THAT NUMBER IS DETERMINED BEFORE YOU SELECT ANY BOX. So your choice of box is irrelevant. The GUI of selecting boxes is irrelevant. If the number 213 was the number then any box you choose will have 2, and whichever you choose next will have one. - 4junk30007 years agoNew Spectator

Are we sure about this one? Sounds like conspiracy to me. "Bomb319;d-216079" wrote:
Out of the usual one, two or three donut bonus, I got ELEVEN single donut "worst prizes" in a row. The odds of this happening by chance if there were truly a fair one-in-three shot are 1/3^11, or about one in 177,147. Not only that, but this keeps happening REPEATEDLY - not quite so many in a row, but almost always NOT the one-in-three chance you would expect.
Thoughts?
I read that as 7^11.....
Unfortunately eleven isn't enough of a sample size. Patterns of small groups can appear to confirm any suspicion. You'll need a larger sample."frosted1414;c-1929308" wrote:

We already determined that it was aliens- I dont think you realise how many people play these games and how many of these boxes are opened, to the point where 1 in 180,000 isnt impossible.
Its statistics and there will always be random errors, or in this case completely plausible ones.
Please stop with these threads. - I'm fairly sure there's a pattern, but I'm even more certain that it's not worth the bother of figuring out for sure whether there is. (I'm reminded of Springfield Downs here.) Even if you could identify a pattern, you'd then have the problem of figuring out where you are in the series, leaving you in more or less the same place as if the sequence were entirely random.
Just play and enjoy your well-earned donuts. "liamchandler;c-1929321" wrote:

Amen! And a few others that a constantly repeated.- As I always go for three I've noticed that more often than not the 3 is repeated in the same box over and over again. Mostly 3 times in a row but I have had 4,5,6 and even 7. I think this method of choosing the same box the 3 is in repeatedly works best for me ... aliens or not :)
