All that notwithstanding, though, my original namesake is Walter Matthau.
And let's not forget Snidely Whiplash the villan from the Dudley Doright cartoon (Rocky and Bullwinkle show). I think he is from the 60's. Just saying the name existed before Walter but doesn't mean you took it from Whiplash. May have existed before even that (how did Wikipedia mss him?)
