You're not seeing that it's failing out. Go to Storage and select Cached, so you can clear the cache for all apps at once. I've seen the total cache hogging up several gigs which prevented my DLs too
- 4junk3000New SpectatorBefore deleting stuff in your ROM, free up space in your CACHE. I had this same problem a long time ago, deleted all kinds of apps and pics but it didn't help. Then i cleared the cache for all apps, and it blew out several gig that was being hogged up by Chrome, Pinterest, and a few more. So do try that! Good luck!

The Simpsons app on Android currently takes up 1.2gb
Your display is not full HD. Therefore, such a memory.
Couple questions. WHAT and 2 WHAT? - 4junk3000New Spectator
Well that is amazing. The version on my phone is HD and also shows 1.9gb. Thanks for clarifying this critical info.
Mandy, this guy found your problem. It's because HD is 2gb. Sorry I mislead you! Hope it's all fixed now! - I’ve just turned my iPhone off and back on. Deleted the Simpsons app and then re downloaded it. Seems to have downloaded no problem, so paws crossed it’s fixed it.
Mands xxx - 4junk3000New Spectatori'm sorry i can't help any further. i know nothing of the apple products. but if it's really a pain, i recommend buying a nice used 8" android tablet. you can get them super cheap on ebay and use it only for the Simpsons. it makes a world of difference for me, not working on my phone anymore.
hopefully someone with apple experience can help more. there must be a way to clear up more room to host this game for you. good luck! - This issue has been going on for over 3 years now. This is what is commonly known as a “phantom update” where the game will redownload the entirety of the game, but it is not adding anything to it.
I have explained the whole thing in this thread: https://forums.ea.com/en/the-simpsons-tapped-out/discussion/242969/3rd-time-posting-about-phantom-updates#latest . You can go their and read it if you want.
If you don’t, to summarize: This has been going on for over 3 years now, it has been reported on numerous occasions, EA’s customer service basically tells you that they don’t give a flying f**k about the issue, and that I doubt that EA will do anything about it unless the community of players either stand up as a united front and begins boycotting all current games of theirs or sues them in order to get them off their butts and to actually start fixing something.
EA is currently considered one of the most horrible companies in regards to the customer service. They only care about the almighty dollar than fixing issues that have been in their games for years now or have been in their since Alpha (in the case of PC and console). It’s honestly not even worth the effort of complaining about it anymore, since they won’t change their ways.
I’m a player who has been playing since Year One and have never had much of a problem with the game until this. I do love the game, but this issue has finally made me reach my breaking point and I am deleting the game. It’s just not worth it anymore to constantly sit through these “phantom updates” in order to play this game. - You likely have a corrupt file. Uninstall and re-install.

You’re low on storage
That’s been my experience. On a 32GB device I need to have at least 10GB free.
