- I've been deleting people. I don't do it the first time I visit their town and have nothing to tap, but if I go a few days, checking several times each day and have nothing to tap? I delete them and add someone else. I do feel terrible about people who would be playing but can't because of the crashes, but it does add up. If ten of my friends aren't active, that's a 10% loss of hearts (relatively speaking given the decrease in hearts per town) for me just collecting at their towns, never mind that they wouldn't be visiting me either.
I wish this event had the counter so I could keep better track. When you go into a town, you don't know if someone hasn't played in days or if another neighbor came in 10 seconds before you. While I would prefer neighbors that visit me frequently outside of events, I don't delete people for not visiting me. If it looks like they're not even playing, I usually replace them with someone who is playing so they can get the most out of my visits. xamovo wrote:
This pretty much sums it all up for me.

While I don't enjoy deleting anyone, the whole point of neighboring someone is to mutually benefit from the connection. During a non-event time, I might be more forgiving that they aren't visiting me, as I can still tap things in their town, but during events like these, a regularly active neighbor is most desired.- JedihntrNew SpectatorFor this event, I've been leaving them. When the hearts dwindle to one per tap, it hardly matters if a few neighbors don't have characters available. Considering a lot of people are clearing the wheel quickly, I won't kill myself for 107 benches, fences, and flower carts after I'm done.

For those of us still experiencing "bad luck" with the wheel, or those actually wanting lots of extras of the prop pieces, priorities are a little more skewed, so we don't consider it "killing" ourselves to grab even those single hearts.

So I had 7 friend requests, so I deleted 7 of the seemingly idle people and accepted those friend requests.
If I get more friend requests I'll likely delete a couple more idle folks. - unfortunately it is a long and slow process to delete friends :(

It's not too bad if you download the origin app for your Mac or Win PC. Linux users are out of luck tho (but how many of those are around, and yes, I used to be one of them). Just have your tablet/phone next to you while you bring up the friends list on your computer.
But yeah, trying to do it in game is mind numbingly stupid.- Deleted. I removed at least 6 people that are definitely not playing. Saw no signs of any Valentine content, all the characters had no hearts left, and didn't see a Duff Blimp. So seems they took some time off. Plus some of them were house farmers that I meant to axe sooner.
- As long as I can get down to that 1 heart per tap level, I don't care. I'm leaving people. It would probably be different if it was 5 hearts per tap all the way through. I figure I need at minimum 40 active neighbours so I can max out on the diminishing returns portion of the neighbour visits. Any one after that is just extra.
Besides, some of these people were such good neighbours during Xmas. (and Halloween. And WD.) And with all the log in problems people seem to be having, I keep them. I'm checking their SF's every visit cycle just in case. Honestly, I'm so terrible for visiting in the off event. I figure, they haven't deleted me for the week long break I took before Vday. I won't delete them. - I have all the characters and need to clear my cards at least twice a day.
