Why does The Mayflower have a Danish flag?

Shouldn't it be the flag of England instead?

It's technically not the Danish flag - that has the cross off-centre.

It's a stuff-up from the original TV episode - in one scene it has the proper "Saint George's Cross" flag (red on white background), and in another the incorrect inverse.

EA have copied the wrong scene image for their design from the show itself (beside any historical accuracy & timing issues).
  • Mayflower was an english pilgrim father ship. The english flag was a red cross on white bottom. It´s a mistake by EA.

naval vessels did not use the proper english flag though, so it would still be out of place :P

You're assuming that history on the Simpson's world is the same as ours. :)

Jeez, this is such an old thread I doubt anyone will ever see this, but the original Mayflower returned to England and was eventually scrapped. Nothing remains of it, so the one in Springfield is supposed to be a replica (similar to the copy of the HMS Bounty). No need to fly a period-correct flag, particularly if no one would recognize it vs. the iconic Union Jack. Plus, it's a game. Homer is as tall as the house he lives in. Let it go.

Better tell the owners of the Mayflower II that they should be flying the Union Jack then, even as a replica it flies the Flag of *. George in honor of England, his majesty the king, and as they were operating under an English charter when they settled the colony. 8)

But long story short, it's a simple error in coloring. It switched red and white accidentally creating another country's flag. It'll happen from time to time on other things in the game 8)
