Would you prefer a subscription model?

No thanks, I don't like being charged monthly for a lot of things because it's not a definite that my credit cars will have the available funds. I just had to contact Microsoft because they tried to charge my card every single day for 7 days for another xbox live subscription that I didn't want. Had to speak to 3 different people before it got sorted out. I can just imagine how annoying EA would be, speaking from experience with calling their customer service. Not worth the hassle, I'd rather buy things at my own pace.

Subscription model proposed would cost $120/year and give 1200 donuts.
Currently, one boatload of donuts is $100 for 2400 donuts.

You would be paying $20 more and get only half the donuts.

This. Saying, "I won't buy 132 donuts for ten dollars, but I'll pay ten dollars a month for 100 donuts if it's automatically billed" shows rather poor math skills.

Eat my shorts, dude. We were just looking at what you, you know, posted.

Pay for the game $10 a month and get a certain amount of Donuts ... Maybe 100 Donuts a month with some exclusive content

I notice you edited to remove the stuff about how you don't pay for donuts but would do this. The suggestion of 100 donuts for ten dollars is at least still intact. So, whatever, it's a bad financial plan no matter how you slice it.
  • I'm fine with monthly automatic payments. I use that for every utility, my rent, my subscriptions, and my dental bill. Calling it lazy is, in my opinion, the same as calling a person lazy for driving to work rather than walking there. Taking advantage of modern technology is, in my opinion, smart. They don't call them "modern conveniences" for nothing. :)

I've never heard of a law that requires a business to reimburse people who didn't use a service they were paying a subscription for. Maybe I misunderstood what was being explained in that post. Probably.

What I would prefer, though, is a five dollar monthly subscription that would simply give me a 50% discount on donuts whenever I decide to buy them. Just that. I'd be happy with that. :)

...I removed nothing. I added "If not, why?"

And considering you'd get discounts and exclusive content, it's a bad financial plan how?

Additionally, obviously you get more Donuts if you buy in bulk. That's the case with anything in the history of the world. That's not the point. The point was exclusive content, discounts, and then a 100 Donut bonus. Why is that on everybody's frontburner? Seems like nearly everybody missed the point.

And why so many think the game would be subscription only with no option to play for free is something I don't understand eitehr. Where did that come from?

I didn't say autopay was lazy. I also use it. I said its prone to lazy people forgetting their auto payments..... And blaming the service instead of themselves.
And no, I don't know of a law forcing businesses to pay the money back for these idiot transactions, just smart businesses that want to keep/aquire customers tend to pay at least a portion back from my experience; they call it good customer service...... But can cost them a lot of $$$ as I've seen several times first hand.

Maybe you could be able to get what ever new premium items are released within that month, without having to spend donuts. along with an additional small amount of donuts.

I would pay for this type of subscrition. Subscriptions should be optional. You could still play for free and you could still buy donuts in bulk. Most people don't buy boatloads, spending more like $5, $10 or $20 dollars at a time. Which can add up over time.

As long as there is no exclusive content
