Tbh, EA should really update both the Yearbook and Vault.
There are too many items that you can't currently get either from the Yearbook or Vault like the Deep Space Homer Skin or Golden Goose Realty.
That stuff needs to be put in the Yearbook or Vault. Hence my reasoning on why both the Yearbook and Vault need new updates.

If they just put everything in the yearbook or vault the there wouldn't be rare items they could bring back every year for a short time to try and make money if you have items u can only get at certain times then it's a little more interesting then just putting everything in there trust me I would love to have ggr and God and everything but I understand why they do it that way
You do know that EA is still gonna make money regardless if items like God and GGR are put into either the Yearbook or Vault right?
Since some people use real cash to buy premium stuff?
Also I gotta point that there is plenty of items from past events that have never been reoffered in the shop again.
That's why getting limited time items can be annoying and frustrating especially if you miss out on said limited time items when they where initially on offer.
It makes more sense imo to put those limited time items either in the Yearbook or Vault permanently.
So if the player has an option to buy those items whenever since it's now permanent if the Yearbook and Vault get updates say if God and GGR get put into either the Yearbook and Vault.
Whereas in the case of limited time items like God and GGR as it stands as of now, it's only temporary - meaning you only have a small window of time to buy them.
I dunno about you, but I prefer much prefer my premium stuff to be permanent to buy whenever I like rather than it to be temporary.
So I much prefer the option of getting permanent premium items over temporary premium items any time imo.
That's exactly why I feel why both the Yearbook and Vault need new updates.
You've put considerable amount of time and thought in your post, had this been someone simply stating a wish and offering no substantial amount of thought I'd simply answer with a favorite Bender Gif of mine.
I won't, because you've thoroughly analyzed things quite well.
Here's the thing:
PRICE
As I've said in another post, God was available at 777 donuts.
Why? I don't know.
666 refers to the Mark of the Beast in the Bible, often times the number 6 is considered as incomplete or imperfect whereas the number 7 is considered perfect and complete, combined with the tendencies for things to be stressed three times....it can serve as a complete opposite to the number "666" while also being a hefty price to pay!
So the gag comes with some shtick.
God has a 24 Hr Task, reward?
777,777 cash.
That's prior to any bonuses.
GGR is obvious, it's benefits well known and documented.
A lower price? Unlikely, your best bet is a Bundle Deal, maybe....MAYBE a Black Friday deal, however if one didn't happen for the aforementioned items last year, I doubt this year will be different.
EA will make money either way, is your point, am I correct?
EA will make more money, if they keep the price and target impulse buyers.
A ticking clock and Skinner Box, both methods EA employs and they work.
Anyone, anyone who knows what they do and how useful they are, will more than likely pick up those items the next time they show up
Heck you might see a post or two about the benefits of purchasing donuts to buy God or GGR, they'll pay for themselves eventually most posts will say....
Putting them in the vault means a cheaper price, and when it comes to EA they tend to sell new items like a used car dealer turned infomercial host telling you of limited time windows and benefits and such...when it comes to OLD items however.... Unless they really want to go for quantity over quality...price tends to stay the same, extra bundles in some cases but prices tend to gravitate towards certain thresholds.
777 donuts is super specific, I doubt they'll sell it for anything less (don't quote me on that)
If they ever bundle Jesus and God for 888 donuts it's still a steal...
Point is, that high price?
Newbies would have to purchase donut bundles for that.
That's what EA waits for.
Mystery Box?
Doubt it, even the most expensive Mystery Box is less than what? 200 donuts?
Some premium ones existed that required you to actually purchase donut bundles to receive a token...that might be the type of mystery box they choose....still the price is outrageous and quite high.
Any price fluctuation would more than likely benefit EA.
As for updating the Yearbook and Vault....
Just no, to the Yearbook.
The Vault could use some update, maybe one past event item a week or month, but in general it's still a nice addition that EA made permanent (alongside the yearbook....for now)
As mentioned before, the vault offers a discount, unless they are old decorations most event or limited time items tend to carry hefty price tags, they wouldn't lose much if they made some discounts... But a constant or larger injection of pricey old items could cause them to see less income (people saving more, by spending less, so they buy less donut packages).
The yearbook was released, it was made at a certain time, with a shorter time expected...EA EXTENDED that time.
The term Yearbook....it's a collection of pictures from THAT YEAR, not this year, or in the last couple months.... If they choose to make a NEW one than chances are both can exist harmoniously and have separate items!
An update is unlikely.
The McRib is often only available for a limited time, but say they made it permanent, what if someone said why not add the Shamrock Shake to the McRib Combo meal?
It might be a bad example (most definitely is) but the general idea is that after they made that decision to make something permanent, expecting them to add something already a bit seasonal or not available on a day to day basis...it seems like asking for more, even after a big decision was made.
The Yearbook had items from specific events. It is a Mystery Box, sometimes Mystery Boxes get updated, but that's usually in-between events.... And usually the name changes as well sometimes the year is added to specify which edition it is.
However we haven't had a permanent Mystery Box (besides the other one, but that one doesn't have a shuffle button and has a far smaller and more random Chance of getting something worth while.) So even just having it is actually a really great thing.
Conclusion:
Limited time items can be annoying, sometimes you don't have enough donuts, however EA uses these methods just like a late night infomercial...they don't expect everyone to buy the donut deals, or limited time items
...they're waiting for the whales and the impulse buyers...
It's worked for EA and change isn't something they do often...or if it's beneficial to the players.
