With all due respect to the justifiably angry mob (it sucks when your game doesn't work) - there are a lot of people that clearly don't understand how product development works on a technology platform. Any content updates would be on a product roadmap and have dedicated developers working to deliver against that timeline. In this case an episode tie in is intended to drive tune-in to the tv show, which is supported by ad dollars. Delaying the launch would be like delaying a super bowl commercial until the following weekend. It misses the intended point.
Bugs would be handled by a different group of developers and addressed on a case by case basis with different levels of priorities assigned. This group is usually fixing the mess that the other group made.
Getting upset about having something new, before old issues are addressed is like comparing apples to oranges.
