I wonder how you find out which one is your original house/business got a bunch of brown houses to sell......

@wyendn Try making a character do a brown house task and see what house they go to. However, I'm wondering if it matters with the brown house. I used to have 28 brown houses during the Christmas update and now I only have 2 and my characters can still do brown house task. I doubt I was that lucky and kept the right one.
