When you visit a friend's Krustyland you will never see handshakes. You will only see handshakes in your Krustyland.

Now, there is a glitch that prevents some handshakes from showing in your Krustyland. The going theory is that when more than one friend clicks on the tickets in your Krustyland, you don't see the handshake.
