Still no user quests

Hi,

Have a read thru the following post, might give you some guidance;

http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/9043283.page

I'm in a similar position that I have been tasked to build Moes, as part of a Halloween Quest (something to do with Marge) but I have levelled up quicker than than the plot line due to the Halloween quests, some $ and XP farming and collecting whilst visiting other Springfields so I cannot do it yet as I haven't completed Flanders quests yet and still need to build the Java Server. Once these are done I know I will get the task to build Moes and then both Marge and Moe appear and then you can continue with the Marge Halloween quests.

Bit of a pain but you just need to be a bit patient and it should all work through before the end of the month, of course the more you play the quicker the quests get done.

Also don't be surprised if during play you have no formal tasks to do, it is just how things work out, you will just have to send the characters on quests of your own choosing to suit the way you play until another game generated task comes along.
  • I do appreciate the response jules, thank you for taking the time to post.

I have been doing this for about 3-4 weeks now, an no further quests have been presented, I have tried it so many different ways and gone through so many different sub-quests, now I'm completely stuck. Nothing is becoming available, they were coming through regularly and then literally all just stopped in one go, I'm level 22 now and was levelling up just a little faster than the quests.

I'm not going to cry, whine and swear like some people I have seen do on the forums, but I would genuinely appreciate a fix, as its very disheartening.
  • Glad to try and help, agree with you that shouting and swearing wont resolve the problem and also doesn't help either!

Your problem seems similar to another post I also saw here on the forum.

As said I'm in a very similar situation, I'm just about to level up to level 18 and I'm sill doing level 15 quests and I know that is because I've earnt more XP and levelled up quicker the plot time line, however, on another profile I have, everything is running on schedule as I've being playing the game normally.

I have read that some people have had issues since the Halloween updates, so perhaps one thing you may want to try is to put all of the Halloween stuff into your inventory and see if that has any effect on the play. If the game starts to give you quests again try putting the Halloween stuff back into your Springfield and see what happens.

The other thing you may want to consider is logging out of Origin so you game is saved and delete the game from your device and re-download it just in case your game has gone a bit dodgy.

If you still have no joy, have a look on the EA questions board, there may be answer, or you can even post your own question, bit like another forum; http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Simpsons-Tapped-Out/bd-p/The-Simpsons-Tapped-Out

The last time I did a quest for a user that wasn't Cletus, his farm or anything else worthwhile was weeks ago.

I have happily waited for this to be fixed, I have also tried all suggestions and have made every single character do every single quest, including all recommended ones.

I think the last one I did was send bart and martin to the library, sending Bart to the library has not been an option since.

I actually enjoy playing this game, and have even bought a fair few donuts just to keep ahead of my friends, so the fact it is a free game does not come under this any more!

I cannot unlock Moes bar, so now my normal quests have stopped and so have the Halloween ones as I can't get Marge.

Please can anyone sort this out or tell me what I need to do, I know others have had this issue and have resolved it, but I'm at my wits end with this now, I have paid money into this game and it does not fucntion correctly, and my friends are getting more buildings than me!
    Cheers for any help.

To get Moe’s Tavern you must first reach level 15 at this level you should be able to unlock the quest called Is There an Al Coholic Here Pt.1 which is more than likely from Homer Simpson. If you haven’t completed all your quests at this level then it is highly recommended that you do them from your task book because Moe’s Tavern cannot be unlocked without them. By building and completing the building for Moe’s Tavern in your Tapped Out city you will unlock three very special things in your Tapped Out game. The first thing you will unlock is a special animation scene between Homer and Marge Simpson in front of Moe’s Tavern. Secondly you will unlock Marge Simpson and she will join your Tapped Out city once the building is constructed. Third and last, is unlocking Moe to help water down your beer in your Tapped Out town for your citizens so they don’t get extremely drunk.

With all the Halloween quests, many of the normal ones have been pushed aside. Make sure you have finished all the Halloween ones first, and then make sure everyone finished their quests when you log in (say if you log In every 6 hours, make sure everyone has a 6 hour or less quest).

I don't agree with the view expressed here that the Halloween and the non-Halloween tasks necessarily conflict with one another. In my case both were presented to me in parallel. Whether that's typical or not I can't say.
  • Thank you everyone for your replies.

I hate to be a 'yeh, but no' guy, but the problem was apparent before the Halloween quests, and my Halloween quests are now alos on hold as I cannot build the Church or Moes.

Do EA ever reply directly on here? As I know they know about the issue, but have just said 'an update is coming' for a while now... I guess that means an update is coming an I'm being impatient, or they don't know how to fix the issue.

Oh well, I'll just keep building houses and other crap ;)
  • Sorry that we've not been able to pin point a solution for you, I believe the replies thus far received are based on our experiences on playing the game ourselves.

With regards to getting help from EA on this forum, I am afraid to say, don't hold your breath, there is a definite lack of support from EA on this their own forum, it clearly seems to be the case that they are not moderating the forum or have a team of people assisting unfortunately and god only knows the reason why!

Although slightly different than you, I am also in a plot lag situation - I am now on level 18 and still have not finished all of my level 14 (although just about to finish building the Java Server), 15, 16 and 17 quests and in my case I have been given a Halloween Bad Dream House quest for Marge which I still have not yet completed as I still have to build Moes, which is sometime after building the Java Server and getting the Comic book Guy to complete his quests there first. I got this quest a few days ago and I've just had to be patient whilst my game catches up with the given quests.

As you are on level 22 and have still yet to complete level 14 tasks/quests it might be a simple case that you have to let the game catch up with your level (I presume you have lots of houses generating $ and XP and have levelled up quicker than the game plot) although I cannot say for certain that this is your problem, although I presume you've built all the houses and other building that you were meant to have had built, which should be both level 13 buildings, being Androids Dungeon (and Comic Book Guy) and the Orange House.

If you have, the only thing I think might help is the following. Put both Android Dungeon and the Orange House into your inventory (tap the move button and then tap on each building and then tap on the box button, which puts the building into your inventory, you will be asked to confirm this is what you want to do). Tap the Bart and Milhouse button and then tap the Origin button (bottom left hand corner), this brings up the Origin menu, from this tap on Profile and the tap on Log out. Your game will be saved on the EA server. The delete your game from your device. This is just in case your game has got stuck in a loop or perhaps gone a bit dodgy. Re-download the game again from the App Store and log back in and start playing by taking both Androids Dungeon and the Orange House out of the inventory.

This may kick start your game, sort of basing this on the fact that if you start a task, such a growing corn at Cletus Farm, if you put that into your inventory and reinstate it into the game the building resets itself and you won't be growing corn anymore.

If that doesn't help I'd put a question up on the EA questions board like I suggested earlier, also sorry if I was teaching you to suck eggs with the instructions above but wasn't sure if you knew how to do them.

Good luck and report back but hopefully you'll be sorted.
  • Turns out this was a carbon-based error.

I deleted the Orange house (which was my last quest) once built so I had more room for stuff, without this, it doesn't activate the next mission, as soon as I started building it it continued and now I have my church :) Quests are going now.

Thank you to anyone who posted, even if you didn't help, you tried, and that's what matters.

Good to know this for future reference. Thanks for posting.
