update Monsarno or save up for prizes?

My aim was to upgrade so everyone had tasks, then look and see how its going

I've been updating as well almost at Level 7
I keep looking at the crafting box and think about it as well crafting or leveling up...

Upgrade first - then craft. As you upgrade more of your characters get tasks to earn supplies. Then at level 7 your payouts increase.

You can't do anymore upgrade until act 2 starts. And I saw following site earlier today about the monsarno research upgrade and the rewards; if its information is correct, maybe it's better to save all the fertilizers and corns that you have even after you reach level 7, so that you can upgrade the research centre instantly once act 2 starts and unlock higher level character tasks right away.

We can only upgrade up to Level 7 in Act One.

The simplest way to get corn is to complete Cecil's daily tasks.

Other ways to get corn:

Mutant corn stalks.

The tasks that become available once you level up.

update Monsamo first then if there is time save up for said prizes. none of them are that great so far.
if there was a character to craft then i would save up and craft the character

Is there a max level for Monsarno/Herbicide? I'm at 18 Monsarno and 14 Herbicide.

There's no limit to the upgrades that I know of, but there's a point where it's pointless. Spoiler: At the end the final tasks are to upgrade them both . End spoiler.

I recommend stopping at 16 or 17 for Monsarno and 15 for the Squirter.
