One word: Career. This career mode is built to punish the player. Decaying stats, missed training sessions, very poor point returns for fights. I've completed 8 full careers and you can't get much of anything to level 5 before you're forced to retire. 90% of the fights in the career are against CAF's. And my biggest complaint by far: when you complete the career that's it, the retired fighter isn't added to the roster for the other single player modes at all.
I love taking multiple guys through the career then having them face each other in the fight now mode. There's absolutely no incentive in doing multiple careers knowing your fighter basically vanishes into the ether, never to be used again.
