Ignition button

Would be nice if separate ignition button (engine start) would be added to a game. The current system where throtle starts the car is kinda problematic on wheel and pedals with manual clutch. This is because when your car has stalled and stopped, you need to hold the clutch down, hold the brake so that the car doesn't slide downhill and also press throtle pedal to start the car. So you see, you need to press 3 pedals simultaneously but you only have 2 feet. Okay it can be done with 2 feet to with heel and toe and such, but it is less than ideal or easy. That's why adding a simple button option for ignition would be a big quality of life improvement in my opinion.

It would also help if the button could replace the start with throtle so you could avoid starting the ignition by accident and then stalling the car again right away. It happens often that I accidentally start the ignition when me and the clutch is not ready and just stall the car again losing even more time.

Thanks for the nice and very respectful remark. Didn't actually think of using handbrake. However I think a ignition button would still be a good addition because real cars don't start with throttle. Also ignition button would still offer better and more easier control when your car is still moving. For example when your car is going backwards and you want to brake and start the car at the same time.

  • @Rekiotsufor what it's worth, I'm with you. I really dislike the stalling/restarting mechanics in the game. It should be standardized like other sim games, a button for IGN/Power and a Starter button. Contextually dependent on the clutch being in (for clutched cars).
I don't want to heel/toe the brakes with the throttle pedal to start the car, it's wildly uncomfortable. But if I don't, the car will roll with gravity.

Engine off > Apply Brakes > Apply Clutch > Press starter
