The lifeless career...

Some critics and suggestions to improve;

This career is so bad! Who likes keep skipping weeks because don't have cars for those championships or don't have the need to update the garage headquarters or engineers headquarters? Isn't that fun?

Goddammit! In the last WRCs games I found myself looking at the details of the headquarters. Seeing what was in the laptops or above the tables, noticing the seamless integration of the TVs with the specific menus, watching the NPCs pretending to work, etc. Just that was so immersive!

Imo they should structure the career this way;

First a license. It functions has tutorial as well. How good you do will determine how good the initial sponsors would be. And how good the sponsors determinates the size of your budget.
Then you put that in a monthly board, just like the last WRC games. You have your main championship and various events, sponsor events. You can choose not to do those events. Those could be many creative things like many drivers do irl. You could even test future builds of the game, or stages or cars, and give feedback to the devs. Like the real drivers do for the game irl in a PR event. You could have drift events, etc. So many could be done. Everything but driving a broken car in a thunderstorm. Lol. But there's the kick; if you choose not to do those, the sponsors could be unhappy and pull the 🤑. Hell, you can even creat a dynamic with your team mate. If the sponsors love him more, you could be kick out. Or, if you are still winning championships, could be harder to negotiate the contract and then your are winning but your team mate is the one receiving fat bonus, like special cars the he can drive in private compounds like Dirt Fish or rallycross cars to enter part time championships and earn more 🤑.
And talking about small championships, how about obscure rallies, nationals, small rallies in other countries that aren't in the WRC calendar. We already have a few. Take those of the main championships and made the small championships feel fresh and new.
And make the AI somewhat alive. Consistent in the first place, but we need to feel like we are rallying against other people. Add an laptop in the headquarters were we can watch the news. Imagine drivers and journalists talking about that exact same accident we pass by on the stage! Omg, we were battling with Ogier but his car was on fire on a ditch! and he was talking of that in the interview. Saying the battle with us was very close but if the engine didn't blow up he would have us.
You could do interviews as well an that could dictate how other drivers view you, or the media, like in some Nascar games, but that needed to be implemented seamless. So, I'm not really sure about this one.
All of this to say; Cods could have done a much better job!
Hopefully the devs or someone reads this so they can have some inspiration. In that case, trow your 2 cents. Maybe they hear and correct course .

Besides that, the game is getting better so more and more, the lackluster career mode sticks out to me.

  • I really like the career.  The fact that you have to put some thought into what events you can and can’t do and what goals you set yourself personally.  I like to unlock builder parts so where possible I’ll enter those.   The career is a lot better than most as you face what most independent racing teams in real life face.  What events you can and can’t attend.

    I agree with @ScarDuck14 , career is actually very good.

    You have to choose wisely which events you go to, choosing between improving cars or staff or engineer at the cost of possibly losing points in championship and make your benefactor dissatisfied. And because there are many ways to do it, it makes it far from boring, like career in recent F1 games.
