Fanatec Podium Rally Module Not Working (PS5)

Well my Podium Rally Module from Fanatec just arrived, drivers updated... But it doesn't work with EA WRC!

I'm on PS5.

The issues:

When opening the game, the EA loading screen 'Press X to continue' - the 'X' does not show. Doesn't matter how many close/reopen/console reboots.

This can be bypassed if a Dualsense controller is active - only in this case the X appears, and only the Dualsense press of X is recognised (wheel press of 'X' does nothing).

Once in the menu, again no wheel buttons function, only Dualsense.

Under controls however the wheel appears. Strangely on this screen, if you make it the primary device you can see you wheel Button inputs correctly reported on the right hand side - they still have no effect on menu navigation however despite this accurate reporting when pressed.

You can bind the main buttons to functions (such as lights, wipers) and this will work in game.

I can bind the gears on my shifter (Fanatec sq1.5 connected to the base) - BUT these DO NOT work in game

Sequential mode also does not work - however this is a known Fanatec side issue.

TLDR - No menu navigation (very painful), No gear change recognition (game breaking). Only happens with this specific wheel - changing wheel returns the functionality

Other Games:

GT7 - no issues, navigates menu, all functions mappable, H-pattern gears recognised (no sequential - Fanatec issue)

Dirt 2.0 - same as GT7, everything WORKS (bar the Fanatec sequential issue)

Dakar Rally - same as GT7/DR2.0

General console navigation, no issues.

The issues noted are exclusive to EA WRC

  • +1, just came on to report the same issue.   Previous patches resolved similar issues with other Fanatec wheels other than the DD GT wheel.

  • I had issues on PC and PS5 navigating the menu with the Monte Carlo wheel podium button module rally.

  • I was originally playing on the GT DD Pro 8nm base with the ClubSport RS wheel and it works fine. The Podium Monte Carlo wheel is where I started to run into issues.

    Podium BMR - DD Pro - PS5

On PS5, the problem presents itself at the start menu. Where you usually see Press X it says Press. If you also use a controller it will populate the X and you can navigate the menus with the controller. The rally module gets detected as a Podium Button Module Endurance, and even more strange is that the rally module button presses are detected as the correct binding in the device controls. I can set the GT DD Pro wheel base as the primary device and use it to race. The steering, paddle shifters, ebrake, and pedals all work. The only buttons that respond on the rally module are the PS, share/create, and oddly the change view buttons. None of the others seem to have the correct binding.

Podium BMR - DD Pro - PC

On PC the story is similar, but I’ve worked around the issue by using joy2key to bind keyboard strokes to the module buttons. The only devices that are detected are the podium hub, shifter, and handbrake. The pedal calibration is skipped (but they show up with green checks after) recently no matter what wheel I am using. I can still assign the pedals, and once they are assigned they will calibrate, but they don’t show up under the detected devices. The pedals are connected through the base (I switch between ps5 & pc).

    DD+ - PS5

I did notice that the new DD+ wheel is detected as a GT DD Pro Wheel Base in the device controls on the PS5, but it still seems to function. Calibration functions normally for everything.

    DD+ - PC

On PC, the DD+ is detected as CSL DD, everything still seems to function.

Hey was there any movement on this. I just received my dd+ and on PlayStation. I have the endurance module on the Porsche wheel and it behaves the same. Is this a Fanatec issue or a EA issue?

the irony being it all worked fine on my ps5 with my old dd1
