Punctures carrying over from shakedown - Is this intentional?

Product: EA SPORTS™ WRC
Platform:Steam-PC
Summarize your bug Any puncture that I don't fix during shakedown doesn't get fixed in service (as I expect it) and linger all the way to the very first stage. But is it supposed to be this way?
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Get a puncture in shakedown, don't fix it on stage and then just enter the first stage proper. The puncture should still linger.
What happens when the bug occurs? An unexpected inconvenience.
What do you expect to see? Punctures getting resolved in service before the start of the first stage. If they have enough tires to give to me to stages, they have enough to replace them in service.

First time I experience phenomena of this sort in a rallying game, so I want it confirmed whether this is intentional or not. Or I'm just ignorant. Whichever works.

  • I think that's intentional as all the damage you collect in shakedown runs will be carried over to the first stage unless you repair the car and/or change tires. So it seems to be the correct behaviour imo.

After shakedown you can change to a new set off tyres before you go to a stage.  Problem is you’ll have one less set for the event so you’ll have to workout if doing a 5 stage event.  How long the stages are and then decide which stage you decide to change the first set.  Which would be either after 2 and use next set for remaining 3 stages,  or visa versa.   On all stages except snow you’ll get a  softer option and a harder.  So obviously select the harder for 3 stage

  • Yeah I also wondered about that.

I know that you can change it but I think in other stages if you have a puncture and start the stage after service your tires are automatically replaced (not 100% sure). I just know I was also surprised. Although I do see it as a positive that I have to pay attention

@voju24 Yes. A couple of times after a done a double stage in an event and back in the service area. I’ve repaired car then gone straight to start off next stage. After a few corners I think something doesn’t feel right? NOOOO!!!!! Forgot to put new tyres on.
  • I have repaired the car, started the stage and the puncture was still there. I had to crash the game, loading me back, right after repairs, but before the stage start. I then had to change tyres, but that meant I had 1 set fewer for the rest of the rally. Normally that wouldn't ne a problem, but it was Months Carlo with winter tyres.

@Masgel If you have another shakedown available after getting the puncture, you can replace the tyre in that. Just be sure to add another spare in the tyres menu, or you'll be running the first loop of stages without one
