Why is DS4windows suddenly being flagged by anticheat?
Nothing has changed on my system, running the game through steam. Ive used DS4windows for years without issue, but this morning for some reason WRC is not loading and giving an anticheat message about VirtualController. Ive narrowed it down to being DS4windows that is triggering it.
I use a DS4 to play the game, and its been fine until now and even showed the correct Playstation buttons in game. The game will work using steaminput but there is no way to cause the game to use Playstation buttons through steam, it simply emulates a 360 controller. And also, its incredibly inconvenient to have to shut down DS4windows and enable Steaminput every time I want to play this game.
I dont quiet have 2 hours in steam yet for WRC and I will most certainly refund the game if this cant be remedied. Flagging a basic usability application as "cheating" is hubris and honestly makes me want to get my money back on principle alone but I do like the game enough to give it a chance. Is there anyway around this, can the devs whitelist the program perhaps? There is no way to cheat with DS4windows in a game like this, its just to enable us to use our dualshocks on PC with no hassle.
