Auto-logging out now?

Has EA sneaked in a change that auto logs people out of the game if the window isn't active? I usually have my GDI account window active, and noticed a few days ago that my Nod account would log out after like 10 mins every time now. This is getting to be annoying, having to re-log back into game every time now. I've asked another person in-game and he noticed this as well. Is this EA's attempt to put the pressure on people to buy package limit increase rather than letting the script collect packages? Like EA needs to squeeze more money out of this game when I'm sure plenty of people are spending $100s a month on this game, such as those people in the top 200 ranks.

  • Good Morning,

if i understand you correct, it was in the past and present , that you only can logged on with one account + subs at the same time.
If you use two different accounts or two different worlds with your account at the same time, the first will be logged out after the time period.
There are ways to handle it, but as you asked the automatic logging out with two accounts or the same world or on two worlds is normal.

The problem has occurred for me too. On one machine I use I cannot log in with more than 2 subs without chrome timing out and returning a black screen. On others I use this doesn't happen. I've checked and they appear to be the same version of chrome and I try to keep the scripts I use the same on all machines. The logging in of more than one account directly with passwords has never been possible for me until the script that allowed you to 'start a new session' in the All in One pack. This works on the errant computer.

The developers are aware of the issue and are working on a solution, but first they need to reproduce the issue and so far have been unable to do so.

I've been running this game for months. Never had my other account logged out until now when I would leave it both on. Other people in the game has noticed this change as well.
  • Unable to reproduce? They must not play their own game. Seriously this is super simple to reproduce. Let a window go inactive and it logs you out. Everyone is experiencing this issue.

    Hey all,

I think we had this issue already in another thread. But I'll add the details here as well.
In the latest versions of most browsers inactive tabs (= tabs in the background) get suspended after a certain amount of time. This is done to save CPU and memory (and battery life, if you are on a laptop). That means Javascript etc. is stopped as well. If the game client looses connection to the server for too long both sides (server and client) think that the connection is terminated and log you out.
This is a behaviour of the browser we can't change. But we're currently looking into the possibility to reconnect to the server after such an event. This may take a bit as security and stability play a big role here.

Anyway, I am using Firefox, and are often online with at least two accounts/tabs simultaneously, and I have never experienced the log out behaviour due to long periods of inactivity. Try to change browser and see if that helps. Oh, and I am using the 'New session' script included in the Crucial Pack...

I'm not having any log out issues either, sometimes I'll walk about for half a day and come back and get right after it.
