why havent Script features been added to the game as part of design?

Hi I'd like to ask why haven't the script features been added to the game. They have been around for over 5 years and most players use them. I realise they are third party scripts but surely the designers of Tib Alliances can see the added improvement to the game. There is a risk that the script developers lose interest and don;t update the scripts which can become buggy as EA continue its updates. Basescanner, TA Attack range, MCV timer, wavy, all these should be in the game.

Some of the features added by scripts have been included in the game. Why more have not I don't know, other than players like the freedom of adding particular scripts and not having other ones so players as a group would not be able to agree on which features they 'need' or 'want'.

We've seen this with the implementation of the attack sim and planning feature where some still prefer the older scripted routes and when the in-built feature was introduced a number complained they did not like it.

  • I see your point, attack/combat simulators would be a good example of preferential choice but wouldn't the common ones like basescanner, Attack range indicator, MCV timer and compass movement/coord locator be key staples for inclusion in the game itself?
Q2) Do the various updates by EA risk the scripts becoming unstable? or are the updates tested with the scripts prior to release?

I only use 2 out of the 4 scripts you list and there are 2 versions of the MCV timer out there that work.

In answer to your Q2 - no they are not tested against the scripts. This has been the case from the outset as some of the scripts were very badly written initially and they do not have any control over them. There is always a risk a script will break with the updates although they do try to maintain the entry points to the library of routines that the scripts use.
