special medals for supporting alliances

Hi EA,

on every world we play (and win) we have many helping alliances and friends supporting us in many different ways so we are able to win worlds. Unfortunatly only 50 members can have a 1st medal, even if we promote many to main, so they can get their well earned 1st rank medal, there are many who can get a 2nd or lower only.

My idea is that the members of the alliances of the winning alliance get a 1st rank medal too. That has not to be the same medal, it can be a 1st rank supporter medal or whatever. I guess that would motivate ppl to play as teamplayer in a bigger clan with many wings and sisters.

I m happy to get any feedback about that :smile:

  • What you are describing is in fact the 2nd (3rd, 4th, 5th..) place medal.



  • On some worlds this isn’t the case. Some 1st place alliances ditch their support wings after getting a medal, it has happened on a world I was on.

    No ... its not unfortunatly. Would`nt it look better if you get a 1st place medal (maybe looking slightly different) for supporting the winning alliance. Some/most players in wings and sisters do the same hard work than those in the main.

    A good thing doing it like that is, the worlds are over faster cause you dont need to keep playing after the fort is killed, no endless farming to be able to kill the fort as 3rd alliance .... while others start new worlds already.

    I think this is a really good idea that is worth exploring. I guess in hierarchical order , would be : Clan > Alliance > individual, Where Clan gets the 1st medal and Alliances within the clan will get gold/bronze/silver depending on some metrics people agree on ( rank etc). As Sal mentions, this will greatly reduce the time people hang around in worlds to assist wings defeat fortress and also improve teamplay between alliances. From an admin perspective, one person has clan administration rights which he can delegate, basically the ability to add an alliance into a Clan. Sounds like a lot of coding so probably won't get done, but could have been very nice. There could be a hassle also updating historical data .

    This game doesn't support anything remotely related to a hierarchical structure. What you're describing would require a rewrite of the base code to allow CIC the ability to manage, which is never going to happen.

    SIC for example, is fake. Simply promote yourself and disband the alliance as CIC. Officers have no authority, as in forcibly move a member base on their behalf because a member is refusing to cooperate. Leaders have no ability to download statistical data on their own alliance, much less complete server stats.

    Not to mention, the first change would be to allow alliances to hit fortress more than once. "Wings" get trophies? Congrats Silver, Copper, Bronze medals. You can spin the language all day, it's exactly what I stated; this is no different than the current medal trophy structure of 2nd, 3rd, 4th.

    There are 500 features game developers never coded, because this game was never supposed to exist past 3-4 years.

    You just dont read my idea well, you only state yours and refuse to read mine. And you simply ignore the core of my idea just to say its the same what you say .... Again: you are not right and if you would read my idea really you would get to the point instead of talking the game down. If you dont **** it just dont play it.

    Just for you I explain your the difference: Instead of players get a 1st, 2nd, 3rd medal ....they will all get a 1st badge medal. The "supporter" medals may look different and may have another name - but they are a 1st medal for all inbetween the bigger clan. And the most different point: players get the medal at the same time the fortress is killed 1st time. So none has to hang around to get the next medal then.

    I hope its clear now .... but I dont care if its not ...
  • Perhaps I don't understand, but the closest thing that currently exists in the base code to allow what you suggest is the ally flag. An alternate alliance receives a trophy for killing fortress that another alliance performed? A maximum of 48 players can attack fortress. If an alliance is ally to the killing alliance, then all allies receive a white medal that is simply stamped "Supporting alliance"?
