Chat Icons Not Showing and Chrome Crashes / Snaps

@EE_Elephterion @gamerdruid .The world chat and whisper chat icon 95% of the time does not show since the new update, and my game always makes chrome crash / snap. Yes i have tried the obvious fixes, and no it has not helped at all. Chrome runs everything else fine, it is just this game, It is getting very frustrating now!

You say you've tried the obvious fixes, but don't list them so I need to ask, which ones?

For example, have you tried the game without scripts as they are often the culprit after an update or patch?

Clearing cache, history and cookies sound like obvious fixes to try, so I'll assume that those were included already.

Have you tried a different browser?

You are right @gamerdruid , apologies, i have tried the following:
Disabled all scripts / add ons
Cleared cache etc...
I only use Chrome, don't like the other browsers and my game went snap again at 15:55 today (09/11/19) with no other tabs open.



and it has just went snap again at 16:18 (09/11/19)

As a test it is sometimes worth trying other browsers. It can highlight whether the issue is local or global. As we're not getting a massive bombardment of complaints from others, I can only surmise that it is either local to your machine, or 'local' to your account. Trying a different browser such as Firefox can narrow down the issue.

Have tried Firefox for a few hours now, and no game crashes, but the global chat icon and whisper chat icon is still not appearing. Can't use google translate extension if Firefox

@gamerdruid @EE_Elephterion , this is getting silly the amount of crashes on Chrome. It has crashed 5/6 times for me tonight whilst attacking. Other player in my alliance is saying the same thing also.

It's either a script or something locally. A common script would be my guess or a specific addon to chrome, one that a number in your alliance use.

It could be an 'ad blocker' of some kind, or other protection that is used in common with others.

Which world is this you're talking about?

In the latest version of Chrome, there is a new feature for saving system resources. In some cases, it causes white screen instead showing a webpage (WSOD).
Before getting mad, try to switch off the hardware acceleration in your browser and close all the open instances once before you try it again.
Of course, CPU usage will be higher a bit, but it will not cause problem in an average PC even if you handle subbed accs in other tabs. If you have enough memory in the machine, you'll have no problem since the tabs not in focus will not use so much CPU.
Also reset zoom to 100% and any of resized components to have the page objects appeared normally.

@BambiByte thanks for the information, however i have also tried that, but thanks again. I am not getting mad, just a bit frustrated. @gamerdruid it happens in Tib 30 not sure of any scripts they use. I have no scripts running and no adblocker. I am puzzled as much as you are. It never used to be an issue. I have always used the same protection, nothing is new. Thanks

Hi, @geza25973

What is this icon on the toolbar of your browser? Switch off the add-ons except for the default ones. Also try the built-in cleaner tool in special settings (scroll down fully) It will inspect the Chrome related things only.

Your chat window is switched off. Click on Chat, then you'll see the normal icons and window again.

@BambiByte i know how to play the game, and i know the settings, your sarcastic posts are not helpful. I have the add on for google translate, and the "right click" don't work.

Wow you do not know what that icon is?? The one i have been using for many of a year??? Tell me something new please!

@BambiByte strange how the McAfee security has worked with the game for many a year now, but since the new patch chrome snaps all the time, coincidence at all???? Before you ask, no there has not been a setting change in McAfee or my firewall, or anything else, and on another point it works with Firefox. Before you bring up that it is my internet speed think again, i have 78mbps download, and 20mbps upload.

@BambiByte no my chat window is not "turned off" look at my screen shot, funny how it is only showing alliance chat icon, and not global or whisper in Chrome or Firefox, but wait according to you "it must be something am doing wrong" Face palm. If you never got it, that was sarcasm!

After clicking on "Chat" button, you'll get the window back. You could have tried it. Not sarcasm. Translator works with several method.
