Account hacked?

Has anyone any experience of having their account hacked?
I ask because, last night, whilst I was asleep, someone disbanded my Alliance. It was either someone I considered a 100% trustworthy mate ( he was co CiC) or it was someone using my account.
The perpetrator and his deviant friends then proceeded to slaughter us like babes in our sleep as, with no Bonuses, we were helpless.
Ironically, it was the friend I mentioned who suggested I might have been hacked.
I do recall, a long time ago, someone saying it had happened to him, so I guess there could be some credence to the theory.
Wondered what action, if any could be taken.
Obviously I've change password and email now, but if someone's that determined, there's nothing to stop them doing it again.

The best way, in addition to the steps you've taken, is to enable two factor authentication. The system sends a SMS text message to your mobile cell phone with a number and you enter it. The account can't then be entered without this on a new machine.

You can narrow down the perpetrators to those that were SIC or CIC in the alliance. It's unlikely your account was hacked, but never impossible.

  • Yes, maybe I'll do that. There were only us two CiCs and no SiC so it had to be one of us. Is there any procedure to investigate as to whether or not the account was, in fact, hacked?

Not that I'm aware of. You can say it has been hacked in the support pages, although that, as I remember it, is aimed at recovering your account.
