The changes apply only to a new marker set since the patch was updated. There are some difficulties with various languages still, but the markers are supposed to default to English if a language isn't supported.

From what I understood Elephterion, the basic messages appear in the chosen game interface language (they change automatically). Once the marker text is edited, only the text entered by the player is displayed in the language he used (even if it is not his interface).
(At least I proposed it that way).
Note: Putting them in English by default if it is not a fully supported language seems like a good idea.

later today we will do a quick maintenance for a patch. It will contain improvements for the alliance markers and fix the issue with the default text not getting localized properly. Downtime starts between 13:00 and 14:00 UTC and will last 30-60 minutes, as usual.
I think it follows the same error. The marker appears in the language selected in options but the "message" continues to appear in German, which I assume will be the original language of the marker (or whoever put it).

Prexisting markers will need to be deleted and placed again, any markers placed after the patch should work fine now.
