Unable to access old world/account

I am trying to switch worlds on my account, and when switching over it acts like I'm joining the world / starting a base on the world for the first time. It has me select a faction and a starting location. But when I do that, it then gives me this generic error and won't let me proceed:

I'm assuming this world is no longer available. Can I have it removed from my account, or otherwise gain access to it?

The world is still available providing you regularly log onto it. You will have been away from that world for over 2 years and have had your account disabled on the world, no longer showing in Ranking tables.

Unfortunately there is no way to remove it from your world list, it will come at the end if it is unused for another 2 years!

Before selecting other worlds you've not visited for a long time look at the date last visited. If it is before 2019 (a rough guide - 3 years) then it is highly likely you won't be on the world now. If it is 2020 then you may be lucky and be able to visit the world although all your bases will likely be dead and the only way to move will be via a relocation.

  • Looking at the screenshot... it doesn't look like it's destroying all your bases due to inactivity and you have to start from scratch.

The message implies that this player already exists in the world but is not accessible to its owner.

Has anyone else faced downtime for over two years to know if that's the message?

Or maybe a developer could help us on this matter. :-?

It is the standard message when the player has been 'Missing' for an extended period, inactivity over 2 years. I have that on a number of my older worlds. It lets you progress until it tries to place you on the world in the sector of choice then checks a database somewhere. This reveals you've had/have a base on the world. If you have two accounts on the same world you can check it out if one is still 'live' and the other inactive.

  • Once again, thanks for the information. ;-)

I have not been able to verify it because I personally take care of entering all the worlds from time to time to prevent the accounts from reaching six months of inactivity. ;-)

But come on, knowledge aside, I find it ugly that you are no longer allowed to re-enter when you have spent a lot of money in that world in the past. :-(

I can understand the upset that it may cause, it certain frustrates me!

  • i agree here because there are many players still active on very old servers that wish there were more people to play with. i have about 100 servers i can no longer enter because of this and every once in a while i get bored and wish to troll chats or investigate player names by searching old servers to see any past connections to others. also there is an account called world 42 dummy that has access to every server regardless of these restrictions so if one person has access why can the rest of us?

world dummy logs in regularly - it's the account used for one of the scripts that scans the worlds.
If we'd logged in regularly we'd still have access to each world we landed on.
