Cancelling alliance by changing CIC status

Hello all, I am getting an error message when I try and change my status of CIC. I am the only player within my formed alliance. On all positions below CIC does not work. I just get the error message indicating to change status.

Can someone help?

Once you are the only person in an alliance you need to disband the alliance.
To do that you:
Goto alliance then Properties (on left of membership list)
From there you will see the 'disband alliance' button. Be aware that disbanding an alliance will remove it from the ranking and will remove it from the hall of fame if it has killed the fortress.
