Scheduled Maintenance: 12 Sep 2023

Prev1
The process is supposed to finish at 18 server hours, right?

Is there any news on how the process is going, 70, 80 or 90%?

Thanks @EE_kalyn

only the clown devs at envision think its ok to take a game down for a whole day to do some maintenance, twice in 2 weeks.

No imagination whatsoever on how to go about it in a better way.

  • hmm 10mins past the supposed restart, hope they fed the hamster :)

we will come back to paused game when I usually expect cp/rt after 12 hours. Once again this clown Kayln thinks this is ok.

    give us some cp/rt packages.

Let's see, the indicated time must be an estimate.

If the different processes they have had to carry out, which we do not know if they are hardware, software or both, have been delayed over time, it will take a little longer for them to be available again.

And yes, it would be a great detail to give us a gift from the game during these offline times.

  • I would like to insist that I would love it if when this type of maintenance is done we had someone updating an indicator of the status of the process, something like:

  • the indicator would be great , but i doubt we would get it , and yes i too would like to see some sort of compensation / gift for the interruption of the game , if you are fighting a war and have a planned attack which requires your base to be back to full rt , cp and move timer to have run out, these stoppages are a real pain on planning.
it may a small thing in the eyes of those not involved with playing the game , but it can be for those that do.

just putting it out there :)

It is scheduled to finish at 18:00 UTC - so that makes it not there yet. Another hour to go to reach that time.

If it needs to be extended, then it will be after that - it's not server time as that is often European central time which at present is UTC+2 I believe.

As for compensation, this has been planned for quite some time and players were given plenty of warning about it so should have planned accordingly as I'm sure some will have. It's highly unlikely compensation will be given.

I'm starting to think that the developers have gone to see the new Apple product presentation and have forgotten to start the game.

And yes, german developers and me are in UTC+2 but now are 19:32. :-(

    Hello Commanders!
we have to extend the maintenance by up to 5 hours. New end date for todays maintenance will be September 12 23:00 UTC. We're sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, game worlds will be back as soon as possible.

    Sorry, a delay...

And big thanks to @skyfyre8 for the notification. ;-)

You can write directly to @EE_kalyn about a compensation. @gamerdruid is a forum moderator, he don't have the ability to claim a compensation by himself.

I think that the development team updates the maintenance planning they are carrying out is a great advance, so we know that they will need more time to complete their tasks.

I insist, no, I am not happy that they are delayed but I am happy to see that there is someone who cares about keeping us informed.

Let's remember that these are maintenance operations, it is not an installation of a new version of the game.

They may be doing (on all machines involved in the game environment):

    - Motherboard changes
    - Memory changes
    - Disc changes
    - Power supply changes
    - Network cable changes (ethernet and fiber optics)
    - Installing operating system patches
    - Database version update
    - Installation of patches in databases
    - Updating/replacing load balancing systems
    - Installation of patches in load balancing systems
    - Version update of web servers
    - Installation of patches on web servers
    - Etc.

And yes a final test to verify all are working fine, as complete as it is extensive to involve all modified parts.

These are tasks that seem to us to be done in "a few minutes" but with the number of machines involved they become many, many hours. Let's be patient, please. ;-)

  • Very poor, take our money, take the servers down, just to NOT fix what we have asked to be fixed I am sure.
