This map of where people had issues with accessing EA on the night of the accident might explain why the team mostly based in the US could remain logged in on server while the team mostly in europe was mostly logged out: https://gyazo.com/7eb3eef472838a754275f164ab881667
Regardless of who is to blame for the technical problems, it is EA/Envision's fault, this messed up the server for a whole lot of people, and it is completely unfair that a server is being decided by a coin flip
We are not Vegas gambling here, are we?
Some kind of major compensation is due for all the people adversely affected, imho

Hi Chertosha, thanks for that info. Was useful. Hope all is well with you.
  • maybe both sides can agree to decide the server outcome with a rock paper and scissors match
    like these fifa players did:

(sorry if the joke is not funny for some people)

It puts it into perspective. Read some of the comments to the article.

  • The most ridiculous thing is Ea's silence, what is this forum for?

For once I agree - EA's silence is deafening!

  • Omg me and gamedruid we agree
    :-)
maybe in a month they will reply saying oh sorry but too later we can't nothing.....and server erver is being decided by a coin flip ....
I wonder why I keep giving these money.
For me it certainly ends here and I believe for many others.
This is a kind of theft, taking money and not guaranteeing regularity, beyond who wins or who loses.

Yes this situation is unique. We've been seeing for a long time many problems and many accept them. But i've never seen when two teams were in the center , one of them well defended and suddenly $h1t happened. And situation reversed. We changed roles because of unfair behavior of our competitors and server problems. That is the fight for the win. And now we from leading team become a chasing team with less chances than before.

I'd like to underine - this situation is unique and never been here in my practice.
We are taling here about money. For some people it might be big money. Morale worlds are more expansive than usual.

Many people lost money in unfair fight and wasted time here for nothing. All that we have done here were crossed out by one bug and unfairness

    Just articulating on Accept's post...

As I said, the situation in Tib42 was very delicate:
    - Yakuza has been staying up all night anticipating attacks so they can counter-attack because Iron Wolves tend to attack when Yakazu is asleep/offline.
    - On Sunday morning around 5 am servertime, IW tried to attack but Yakazu countered and killed them. Yakuza made several ruins as you can see here: https://prnt.sc/r9yex7 which they planned to use to attack IW when a few more players of theirs get online. This point was very critical in the server.
    - The next few hours, login issues started happening and some of those who were already online got kicked out. And of course, Bayern (an IW player) somehow stayed ingame and knowing there was login issues, he jumped forward to kill Yakuza's multiple big mains and noone was available to fight him back. See here: https://prnt.sc/r9yfsq
    - The action of Bayern/IW was to inflict maximum damage which they did while Yakuza was offline and trying all this time to login. We all know how the impact of getting killed in PvP at this stage of the game does and the advantage it gives the other team.
    - This particular action of IW during the downtime allowed them to gain advantage and now allowed them to march towards the two 47 resonators POI in the north which would have been a little more difficult had there been no login issues, that is because Yakazu was likely to attack them using the ruins from the first attack.

I wanted to detail out what happened in the center before and after during the server authentication problems on Sunday; hence, why it was so delicate. Which is why compensating everyone will not fix the damage that was done--only a rollback would. If a rollback is possible and the two biggest alliances fighting it out agreed on a timeline, then perhaps that would fix this.

Moving forward, perhaps Envision/EA can work together to address this particular issue and put measures to prevent damages like this from happening as in this particular situation, it impacts the winner and loser of the server. This is a international and competitive game, issues like this gives advantage to one team and disadvantage to another--and where there's paying customers involved to win the server, you can see why it is a very big issue and why a lot of players are very upset. Again, I recommend when there's login issues (authentication server issue), shut all game servers down automatically to kick everyone out regardless of which country is affected by the login issue.

  • Like I said elsewhere, the reasons for the interruption on the last weekend where beyond our or EAs control. And there is only so much redundancy and resilience you can provide for unannounced interruptions.

We issue a small compensation as a token of courtesy, even if we know its not much.

What compensation is this? I don't see it.
