Test server cannot be used for tests

Hi,

to check the bugs after the last patch, we are on the test server. Apparently it is the private area from a few players. At least 4 players have almost 15 accounts each. They fill personal alliances with it. Testing is not possible. Therefore, EA would be advised to close the test server. You have lost sovereignty over your own server. The question is whether these players will support you financially if we stop buying.

I think the original poster misunderstands the purpose of the PTE. It is not an area to test scripts or techniques but a test area for the developers of the game to see if the changes they make actually work. It is their Public Test Area/Environment not a test area for the public.

Although it is also used to verify scripts and prepare new versions just before their global release to the public by developers outside the Envision team.
Keep in mind that if a script from a developer outside of Envision works today, it is possible that when an update is made it may stop working because the development team changed something special.
Reliable testing can only be done when the development team confirms that the process has been completed for a specific version.

In other words, it is a private Envision workspace with public access for everyone.
It has always been recommended not to use funds on PTE servers because they are restarted according to the needs of the Envision development team but everyone is free to use them if they wish.

  • I would also like to add that there is a small group of players (outside the Envision team) who have been playing there for many years and are trusted to help developers test.
There are also (malicious) people who play there just to annoy others and do not contribute anything positive.

The Public Test Environment is an open environment for players and developers to test and preview upcoming changes. Some players will take more liberty with the freedom they are given than others. But this world is not unlike the others, with special rules and conditions and a concerted effort to play through the games contents every iteration is needed and appreciated. And we are grateful for any help we receive from the community.
If players are misbehaving we will police the PTE like any regular world, but as long as there is nothing that breaks the rules there is nothing for us to act on.

Then I want to get to the heart of my concern. On normal servers, newcomers are more often invited. The test server is ideal for explaining the game functions to them better. In any case, it was him. In the meantime, he has become a totalitarian state. Those who are not subjugate are mercilessly destroyed. Those who submit are suppressed and forced to behave in ways that damage their personality. This is sick, especially in the current situation where people need positive distractions. Enhancing the lack of self-esteem in a game by enslavement others reveals the personalities of those who do it.

The game needs customers to exist. Allowing only members with badges would not help. Then you couldn't train newbies. But that only one IP can register on the test server would be possible. However, the IP check should take place every time you log in. We all know that player accounts are transferred. I like this game, but I do not support a test server with my purchases that I cannot use. I also want to be able to choose my alliance myself. I'm against it to be pressed into an alliance that acts totalitarian.

@ iguanaworld, you noticed it too. Yes, it's just a small group. The reason is that many have fled. But you could get he back. You need diversity in the testers. Everyone is different and plays differently.
  • We must understand that this server is different from the rest of the other worlds because "cheats" have been given so that people can fast forward and progress in the game, all with the intention of helping in the tests.
This game has existed for many years and its rules have not changed for a long time, that does not mean that it is a world for some to abuse each other. What's more, this time the development team has reduced some of the improvements to try to avoid abuse.
In any case, when someone is not a good person, they will be able to harm others by purchasing funds and improvements within the game.
Important note: These abuses do not only occur in the test world, you only have to look at other worlds and you will find that in many of them the situation is similar or worse. I have lived it in my person.
Using this server to teach rookies is something that many of us have already done but I think it is not its purpose.
As @EE_Elephterion has already said, if you find someone who breaks the rules, report them in-game so action can be taken. This point will be reviewed by those responsible and they will make a decision.
If you think that a fighting strategy game is not very according to your tastes, you will never like the PTE world, nor any other of the real ones.
And no, I'm not trying to convince you of anything, I'm just explaining things about this game.

  • I think we could summarize everything in a few words:
"In the real world there are bad people and you can find them in any game, also here."
I think the only thing we can do is report their actions when they break the rules of the game.

And nobody noticed that? There are more accounts of these players. You are an army with only one purpose. Suppress and others Alliances starve. Isn't that a violation?

If peaceful players have two or three accounts to test PVP on themselves, I still think that's acceptable.

Question: Have you used the reporting system to highlight the problem in-game? I know you sent the details via messaging but have you done so via the reporting system too?

There was some very specific verbal abuse thrown around in chat, it was copied to me in-game. Has it been reported in-game?

I emailed it to the addressees you recommended. The developers should invest some work themselves.

There are no verbal derailments. What was sent yesterday is the wrong interpretation due to a lack of understanding of the language. Resist the beginnings, that was the basic message to the ❤️❤️❤️❤️ accusation. If you knew how much the member is committed against xenophobia and oppression, there would be no misunderstanding.

Where do the kitschy hearts come from? I didn't do it. Better get the old heart of the game beating again.

Nothing is done against multiaccounts on a server that violate the alleged rules. I used to buy 2 paysafe cards a month for 50 euros. I stopped that. Furthermore, I have unfortunately found that the command points in the alliance are unevenly distributed. I am no longer surprised at EA, neither on the test server nor on normal worlds.

Command points have been stored by players who have been on the PTE for many years without the need to use them due to the command point cheat. Some slight unevenness in distribution has been caused by players joining the current PTE after the first two days. You may well have paid 50 Euros per month, but you don't need to do so to play on the PTE. I don't understand your point, you play on the PTE so of course you have stopped paying.

You certainly weren't effective with the 50 Euros per month as the account you're using has no achievements, neither fortress kills nor challenge badges. This leads me to assume it is not your main account and complaints you make about multi-accounts are a little hypocritical.

I do use multiple accounts and it is allowed. It is how they are used that is important.

Of course I have a main badge account. I won't let the PTE spoil that. But I came to the realization that I am completely stopping the game.
  • hi, gamerdruid,
is it right, that some player get more rep/cp than others?
is it right, that the developers take rep/cp from a account, if the player act in a way that they do not like?

These types of personal questions are a little difficult to answer because each one will offer their personal appreciation but that does not mean that it is true or false, nor that it is better or worse.
If you ask an abuser if the abuse is good, they will surely answer that it is very good.
If you ask someone who is abused if that abuse is good, they will surely answer that it is very bad.
Asking someone about what another is doing will provide a subjective view of something, it is not an objective view.

  • I think it is much easier to indicate that it is better to use the forums for technical questions, doubts or problems about the game mechanics that can be answered by developers or veterans.
Requests for personal information should not be directed against a specific person, send it by private mail to that player and if he has an interest, he will respond to you as well.

It is a test server and errors are made. The phrasing of the first question can be interpreted in 2 ways. Is it morally right, or did it happen?

To answer the second interpretations. Some players may have received double the cp capacity and double the repair time capacity in error. Yes, I am aware that happened. As far as I am told, it was in error in coding or implementation and no particular players were targeted.

In answer to the second, again this can be interpreted in two ways. Is it morally right or is it correct? The developers have always refused to target individual players by penalising them for their behaviour on the PTE, preferring instead to talk to them and discuss the appropriateness of their actions. They have not, as far as I am aware, targeted players in such a way as you describe. They are unlikely to use such a method, they could simply remove them from the server or from the game in total!

  • that happened some hours before:
" You have been silenced by a moderator and cannot send messages for 1d 19:15:28"
i tried to attack the alliance, which destroyed our alliance. the developers / moderator are members of these alliance. they killed the cheatz for my acc. so my bases could not move and they reduced my cp/reptime.
