That is the way it has been designed - none of the chats, private, alliance, officer or global are shown when you log in and are lost when you log out.

  • What for chat then? All just lose tive every login for closing it.

chat is to do just that, talk in real time via text. Many alliances use alternatives to actually talk to each other. How you use it is up to you.

  • Time* Chat overlaping corner of main window.

The chat window is movable and resizable. In my experience it isn't a problem that part of the main window is blocked, 99% of the time and when it is the chat window can be moved or minimised.

Are you using any scripts that change the chat functionality? This may cause troubles then.

Speaking of scripts, is there a script that saves the chat and loads it on the next session? This could be useful, but taxing in the long run unless there's a limit on the number of lines/words/characters the script saves.

hmm. I don't know of one, but doubt that the script would be able to place a large amount into the chat window. There maybe a script that sends the contents to you via in-game mail.

  • Well, that depends on the 'large amount'. My guess is that the script should save only around 5 kb worth of text. How many characters can usually fit into 5 kb worth of text, 200?

For the history to be useful it would need to be over a period of hours (especially overnight). Some worlds will have a lot of chatting over the period of hours, some will have very little because of the use of out of game chat programs.

Well, the chat history would save whenever your online, maybe after 1 or 2 replies in the alliance tab. I doubt there would be a way for the script to gather the chat while you were offline. This would be more useful when your chatting with your alliance members and you need to reset the game cause of either a script broke or the WiFi got buggy and decided to force you a reset.

I tend to leave my machine on permanently logged in - but yes, maybe just the last 50 messages. Or even less. Now it's over to the script writers! :dizzy::cold_sweat:

  • I'm just here to give ideas and want feedback if such idea is feasible... I said something in the post 'Another nail in the coffin from EA'. I'd expect EA to ensure the game is of good quality, but it seems they're managing the game the wrong way. I think EA could make money if they hosted championships worlds that have a small fee in exchange for a price that would benefit the entire alliance. After a week, the world becomes free to join as the pro's are already digging deep into forgotten territory.

I think a proper screenshot would be helpful in this case.

We haven't made changes to the chat. Is the overlapping issue still happening?
The fact that chat is empty when you log in/out has always been like that afaik.

You appear to have selected the area to type into and at that point it enlarges the window.

If you simply log in then the chat window, for me at least, is small but if I select the chat window and select the text area to type into it enlarges enough to overlap. It's been that way for me for a long, long time. Could it be your zoom level in your browser causing the overlap?

  • But chat window active when I login in, I dont click that. Sometimes this window fine. Browser have 100% zoom, if I change zoom chat window become small even if its active, but its until next login in.gxisdcv3zmcb.png
