  • You purposefully came with two to the WSC, you yourself wrote that you never use alts. Perhaps you didn't help the main account as it lost its meaning at the start of the server. You can have a hundred badges. This does not change the essence of such as you, in principle, have forgotten how to play using one account. Because of this, the game is so online. Again, this is not your fault, this is the fault of the developers. The main server of the year, having 5000 slots, could not even collect 1700 players. This shows that there is something wrong with the game because the players don't want to play it.
  • So you think having a layout searching account shouldn't be allowed? And using alts to hold POIs also? That's a different conversation entirely.

The problem is with people on this game, as with life, is that everyone has excuses for their inadequacy. And it's never their own fault.

Rather than learning how to play the game, they sit spouting a lot of nonsense to themselves. Rather than reviewing start guides made by Opasmash and Bruell, they call everyone noobs despite never getting past base 5 themselves, or played in a top alliance. E.g. Thinking that hitting camps with an alt would grow an account faster than hitting walls on a level 42 base.

Yes the game mechanics are flawed, and i also don't agree with pre hitting with alts (hence why i have never done it), but you can still enjoy the game for what it is.

The reason why project has so many people here, is that it's aim was to win the WCS. Nobody wanted to win it like this, without any competition. But let's be serious here, if you are somebody spouting noob on this forum, you were no competition anyway.
  • The issue is not the WSC, but the fact that the game is broken. And developers don't want or can't fix it. Hence, the meaning of playing is lost, since everyone understands that if you play honestly, you will lose. The project only created a precedent that finally killed the balance in this game. And if the developers think that all this will resolve itself, then this is their mistake. The issue has been discussed on the forum for a long time, but no one from the developers has said a word about how they will solve this problem. Based on their silence, one can understand that there is no problem for them. They will launch another boring world with morality and for them this is the solution to the problem.
  • @Pad, your point is very moot. I'm going to refrain from calling names like the other thread so this one doesn't get close. I suggest you do the same and calm down with calling people noobs; since you ain't any better. That out of the way, I'm going to address your specific point from your latest posts.

    Quoting specifically:
"The issue has been discussed on the forum for a long time, but no one from the developers has said a word about how they will solve this problem."

In 2019, Schaffa approached the devs and had a private meeting to discuss the alt abuse issue that was plaguing this game, more specifically Tib37 where Schaffa was beaten by your so-called alt-abusers. Tib37 was notoriously known as a server where alt abuse was evident (so they say)--which prompted the aforementioned meeting with Schaffa and Devs to take place in order to find a solution; hence, patch 19.2.
This is widely documented in old forums. If you do a search you should still find those threads. Now, everyone who participated in WCS 2019 tested patch 19.2 on the last server before WCS 2019 started. Schaffa was there and won that server but gave it up to focus on WCS. This was good practice for them to understand the new mechanics where so many other teams failed to understand. Also worth noting that during those private meetings, it is speculated and widely believe that Schaffa had an edge due to internal and private discussions of game mechanics. I'm not going to make accusations here but we saw.

My whole point being is, to the Devs defense, they have worked with the community--patch 19.2 was a prime example and was actually from many suggestions of players (including the private meetings) prior to WCS 2019. Again, search the threads and you might find some of those suggestions (or maybe you have them on your notes since your team was the other party in those private meetings). So don't say the Devs haven't done anything at all.

You seem to only be mad now because you guys didn't have what it takes (without your complete team) to compete in this recent WCS--making excuses like too much alts lol and so on and so on. Well that didn't stop you guys from entering WCS 2019 (somewhat of the same mechanics and all), did it? Is it because outside of schaffa, more players now understand the mechanics after patch 19.2? Or is it because Schaffa was scared because they knew Project had a complete team that is a formidable foe and can dethroned them?

Like another player said, easy to make excuses by calling us cheaters and you won't play (well, actually some of you guys tried to play) because of such and then say that it wasn't a WCS win because no competition. That is just laughable.

I'm gonna admit, WCS 2021 is boring **** but we showed up and your team didn't because quite simply, you guys were just scared too to show the world that a new champ was inevitable so instead you took the easy way out.

So please stop making excuses, you guys didn't show up period. That's the end of it.

Now as for me using alt, yes I use them after Tib 32 since it does make it easier when starting off as NOD. I have one in WCS right now (GDI) where I used it in the beginning to help me kill harder bases that I couldn't kill otherwise. Kind of like a having two players of two different factions tag-team base.

Can I play without it in a new world? Sure, I can. All i have to do is wait for cherries like many other do that are easy for NOD and strike. And if that doesn't pan out, then wait till team gets higher POIs to make it easier to kill a base. My point is there is definitely many work arounds to playing this game and staying competitive without the use of alts.
  • Inzo first of all, I'm not angry, I didn't mean to offend you in another thread. It's just that I'm tired of hearing that alts doesn't provide an advantage. Alts in the right hands gives an advantage that cannot be beaten. Secondly, I simply will not play a broken game, and now it is completely broken. From the fact that I will not play, nothing will change and rightly so. What amazes me is how people here complain that the developers are not getting any income from the game. There is no income because the balance in the game is completely destroyed and the players do not want to play. tib 53, wsc , firestorm 17 just look online. Three empty servers and all the talk that the developers are trying to fix something empty words. If the players are not playing the game, then something is wrong with the game.
  • @Pad, all good mate. Minor offenses. Apologies all the same. I just get worked up when people start name calling. Anyway, I agree with you to some extent that this game is broken. But let's not attribute all of it to alt abuse. There are other areas that are well known imbalances and likely can be improve upon. Will they? Well that all depends on the resources I guess.

I'll be honest and say I hated the devs after learning about the private meeting and bashed them for it publicly but that's water under the bridge and things moved on just like how it will be after this current WCS. I'm in IT appdev so i can understand the frustration the Devs have and also as a customer of this game I can understand the frustration clients/customers have. Can theydo better job? Sure. Always room for improvement and that's what we're all hoping to see for our beloved game.

Now as for "Project" team setting precedence and killing the game's fun and competition. No, they did not solely do it. It was slowly getting there. To their defense, their formula is nothing new. Mara did it for quite some time; hence, where they recruited top players from good teams (KoN/Trick, DragonClaws, etc). Schaffa did it also, and so did the top teams like AB, IW and so on. Sh1t, i remember going up against some of these teams and was always losing and was demoralizing. Then again i'm a supernoob so it's my destiny to lose

Now as for players not wanting to play because of this, that's really on them. I continued to play even though I know the opposing teams are stacked. It's all part of learning. We take our chances, just like WCS 2019. We knew we didn't have a complete team and the "Coalition" (the teams who were against Schaffa) wasn't organize--too many chiefs not enough indians. But we still played. We loss sure but we kept going and playing thereafter. Lessons learned. Just like how it will be when "Project" is gone. Just like how it was when Mara stopped, new team emerge and the cycle repeats.

My last thoughts on "Project" that i'd like to get cleared up, I would say 80% of Project members do not abuse alts for prehitting as many thinks. I would even go far saying 90% since the 10% uses alts only to help in the beginning. Some of these players are really just good players. Some are decent and some are cherry pickers. lol. Well, we all have those. Project was born after WCS 2019 and was a culmination of years of hard work by good leadership (which the Coalition lacked). I did not start for first year and a half with them because I left the game but can honestly say these last 2 servers, I have seen vast improvement from what we wanted the Coalition to be. So Kudos to Bruell & team to be able to bring all the top international players together.

Lastly, do I vote for banning alt use altogether for the sake of keeping this game alive and fun? Absolutely, YES.

**well i have fun with or without them--it's a game after all**. Cheers!
  • Inzo, You write about 2019 when there was the first attempt to fix the problem with alts now it is already 2022 3 years have passed and smart players have learned how to farm with alts at a higher level. They start the game not even in the main alliance, but join it after they place the 3rd base. Obviously, no matter how well you play on one account, you will never be able to beat a player with alts, this is primarily an economic strategy, and then shooting and PVP. So why am I writing this, what have the developers done in three years? Any company that releases a strategy should keep an eye on the balance in the game. In this game, the developers don't think about balance at all. I can say with a high probability that the problem of alts will not be solved in the next half a year. But I'll be very happy if I'm wrong.

Unfortunately you´re right. By reading all the comments from EE_Elephterion about changes to the game everybody should have realized that nothing important will happen. There will be some small changes (new worlds with different settings or something like that) but they will not sort out the problems of alts + pvp + high costs for funds et cetera. So lets stop thinking about a better future for that game. It will not happen. And you know what - there are similar games where you have to spend only 30-50 Euro for thousands of hours fun ;)

I think you are both right in that no major changes to the game will be released, not just in the next 6 months but I'd say in the next decade and beyond!

Yes, changes will happen, as mentioned, such as different settings for the worlds but they won't be addressing the problem of alts+pvp. As for the cost of funds I think that is beyond the scope of the developers and down to EA.

If you enjoy the other games where you can spend 30-50 Euro for a lot of fun then I suggest that is what you do. I enjoy this game and very few others and I think the majority of players probably are the same. Only a few come on here and complain about anything (considering even with alts worlds have had 1000's of players online) and simply accept it the way it is. Not everyone wishes to have 1st place badges or even 10th place badges, but come online to the worlds for the comradeship that the game provides, even when not in a winning alliance.
I am not an employee of EA/Envision. The views expressed are my own!

i agree nobody really cares anymore, its not a game as much as it is a community engaged in activities within environments they have complete control over. nobody that can take advantage of that would be willing to change it, nobody oblivious to the frustrations of a few forum trolls will care at all. this is not a friendly environment to competitive players and the lack of change may diminish the player base a little but in the end nobody really cares about that either.
  • BTW nobody "won" this WCS, it will forever be remembered as the WCS that never was.
  • BTW nobody "won" this WCS, it will forever be remembered as the WCS that never was.

oh it was something, maybe not a reflection of what they intended the wcs to be. maybe not what people playing this expected but the next FA no morale world will certainly contain a lot of new accounts with gold badges that you can expect to see regularly and with players that possess and share a lot of valuable information and tools about the game to each other and that is something that is good for the game overall.

when we saw those players from shaffa mara nvidia/projekt, it motivated many others to try and attain a gold badge. now that there are more of them in existence spread between more players and in more world types, it provides a better example to others and motivation for everyone to try and earn one as they seem WAY WAY WAY WAY more easily attainable now. all you have to do is all play on the same team to win!!!! take advantage of this while the meta allows and next wcs you can enlist more players than the other teams to easily dominate the environment and win.

a lot of accounts in the next FA server will also be well funded and if a continued lack of competition remains, there will be a steady decrease in purchased funds and possibly a drop in revenue for a much longer span than anyone may anticipate. the opinions of us few forum trolls complaining about the current meta is not echoed in the frustrated player base because they have decided to move on instead. i think it is a shame that druid shut down your ruleset server proposal but who are we really fooling here but ourselves if we think anything will change without you also doing something.

people try to tell me about how this server is and that server is but they are all the same in almost every way, every single time it and it has not and will not change. these slight variations to server size, poi distribution, malus% and level max will not have enough of an effect on the game state to please people that want to pvp and maybe not fall so far behind and enemy that will most likely comprise of every other alliance on the map working together and 50% of your own alliance members as well.

if we can get everyone with a similar mindset together and simply ask for more servers at once to dilute the mass cooperating veteran player base, we will see fairer and closer games and if they can simply find ways to speed up the process of interaction and completion we will be able to play more often and cry less when we lose and also have the time and space to grow learn and advance in skill to be able to challenge the other 3/4s of the player base that has been working together for years now taking turns winning servers. i would love to see an even fight again somewhere soon. this next server starting will likely not be different as we see many servers coming to their conclusions as first fort kills are imminent and all winners and the badge orders in all servers at present are already determined.

more servers more often and dont ask for anything more, nothing else will change. if we can get a few diluted servers than i believe it can reinvigorate the competitive spirit in all players new and old. it can challenge us in unique ways and show how many possibilities for strategy and battle tactics really exist outside of using mass cooperation and poi bonus disparity to win.

  • More servers more often is what i have been asking for several months, unfortunately i think even that is too much to ask.

So i guess any and all future servers will be a copy and paste of what has recently been witnessed, many many alts and ensured victories and all decided by the time the server is one week old.

The list of badge numbers will also be concluded within first two weeks of the new server, so get in quickly and you will get a low badge number hehehe. Rinse and repeat ;-( A very sad demise for a once great tactical war game and pretty sure the only new players that this game is now attracting is armies of alts. False stats because maybe you gain 10 players today but if only one of them quits you lose 10.

As each month passes with little or no change then the less the game will appeal. I for one have not started a new server since Tib50 and will not until i see something different. I don't need to badge and we got enough enemies on Tib50 to keep us entertained for a long time. hehehe i know how to keep an enemy tied to a server so that he continues to entertain us. It keeps a server busy but really is not so good for EA, as funding will be low, funding just enough to keep things interesting. How many other funding players are no longer funding as much as they once did? I can see many players on Tib50 that don't play new servers (some of them really good players too) this is all very sad, EA waken up, make a change, don't let our game die.
