QB won't hand the ball off to the RB and the QB does not always throw the ball away.

I am playing Madden 19 franchise with the NE patriots and I have had several times on a running paly that the QB does not hand the ball off to the RB and times when I try to throw the ball away and nothing happens.. Big issues HELP!!!

Same thing is happening with me and the Giants. Does anyone know how to resolve this?
