The latest version of the Madden Companion App (MCA) is compatible with Madden 20. If you would like to continue to use the app with Madden 19, do not update to the latest version of MCA. Note, you may need to turn off the auto-app update feature in your phone’s settings.

This post explains the following:
  1. How to disable automatic app updates
  2. Steps to revert to MCA version 19.1.11 (the version compatible with Madden 19) should you have already updated to the latest version of MCA

How to Disable Automatic Updates for an Individual App on Android
  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Press the three bars at the top left, then select My Apps & Games.
  3. Scroll through the list of your apps and click on the Madden NFL 19 Companion App
  4. This will bring you to the MCA Store page. When here, press the three dots at the top right of the page and untick the box that says “Auto-Update.”

How to Disable Automatic App Updates on iOS

Open the Settings app.
  1. Swipe up and click on iTunes & App Store.
  2. Under Automatic Downloads, turn off the toggle next to Updates.
  3. Note, this is a global setting; iOS does not have an option to selectively choose which apps do/do not auto-update.

Re-installing MCA for Madden 19
If your app has been updated to MCA version 20.x and you’d like to revert to a version that connects to Madden 19, these are the steps to reinstall MCA version 19.1.11.

From your Android device, you'll need to download the APK. In order to do so please contact me via DM.

  1. From a computer, open iTunes.
  2. Connect your iPhone/iPad and stop any syncing process that fires automatically.
  3. Delete the updated version of MCA (Version 20.x) from your iPhone/iPad.
  4. In iTunes, click on the Apps link from the sidebar. This shows the apps that are available in the last backup.
  5. Find the 19.x version of MCA and drag-n-drop it to the Device-iPhone/iPad section in the sidebar.
  6. Now, click to Sync your iPhone/iPad with iTunes.
