Player Value Rating? Terrible team moves

Can we get some sort of player value rating? I like the lower ovr this year for backups and lower starters, but their should be extra value added to rookies and younger players like in real life. Teams sign players in FA 1 ovr higher than their 1st round pick, and cut the 1st round pick or assign him to the practice squad.
I can sign dez bryant and trade him straight up for DK Metcalf or Nikeal Harry.
Why would the colts sign Jeremy Kerley and Kelvin Benjamin, then cut 2nd round pick Parris Campbell...just to gain 1 ovr from your 4th wr?
Between the logic and no qb rushing stats, it takes away from the realistic experience.

Please consider fixing or at least communicate some of the changes that are planned please!
