Defense in The game

Prev1
I’m just about Done playing the KC Chiefs. The chiefs are nearly unstoppable. The Quarterback ALWAYS escapes the pocket and just throws the ball up. Everyone that uses them is running Extra deep Corners/Posts and rolling right just literally throwing the ball up. The game has gotten to the point that if you don’t have you some nice Cheese Defense you can’t ever stop your opponent. I made it to the top 1% just picking plays and pressing buttons but it seems like the buc stops here. But I’m at a complete understanding that this is the worse time of year for madden. All the cheese has been passed around posted on YouTube and sold in Ebooks. There has to be something done to keep the gm interesting all year.

  • I love playing against QBs who like to run, they're the easiest teams to beat because they're so predictable, after a 3 to 4 seconds sitting in the pocket you KNOW they're going to scramble and that's when you start manually moving down to the line of scrimmage to take him out. QB spy is also your friend, also QB Contain adjustment for the DEs, but my very favorite tactic is to manually control a blitzing safety or LB and use him to lurk cover and to release him to AI control once I feel the QB is about to scramble.
  • oh, forgot to mention, you can also press in the right stick and the nearest defender in zone coverage will attack the QB.

.....By the way, I've made it a daily routine to defeat guys who have spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on MUT with my no-money-paid team.

  • No Disrespect sir! But you’re not playing the top 1%. I just finished playing the Chiefs AGAIN!!! And I loss AGAIN. Spy no spy, Contain, Sag, The chiefs are unstoppable. Now that they have their defense Gassed up as well Over rated Jones comes in Free every play. I’m about done with this years madden. If it isn’t one thing it’s another....First was the corny Zeke Stiff arm every gm and now it’s the Mahomes 500 yards Wortha streaks every gm

What I play against is greater than your 1%......you see, you're playing against default teams while I'm playing against the Top 10% of Super-Charged MUT teams that are completely full of 94 to 97 offensive and defensive players while my team is a no-money-paid meager 89s to 92s.

QB Spy definitely works if you use a FS, Slot CB, or both simultaneously if a single Spy doesn't work. If you're good at lurking the coverage then there shouldn't be any problem, however manually using a Blitzing safety to Lurk Cover and releasing him to AI once the QB starts to scramble is the quickest and easiest way to humiliate the QB. I've caused so many fumbles this way it's ridiculous.

Also, just an FYI, so-called Top 1% or Top Anything doesn't indicate skill because the Leaderboards are based on total number of wins and not win %. There are a lot of novice players at the top of the leaderboards with lots of wins but very poor win %.
  • Once again sir With all do Respect, You’re playing MUT so it’s not the same. Of course you can force Fumbles because you have all those corny players from 1960. Playing H2H ranked is where the Comp is...where we’re not allowed to Buy the Notre Dame Rudy DE combo pack. Just grab a Regular team and Get to it

    Lolololololol facts

We are franchise and H2H players. I have been since Madden 05. We are not the same as you MUT guys man. Customizing the rosters to your choosing and put abilities on any players ha
  • Not to mention playing vs custom offensive and defensive playbooks.
  • Only team I ever see is Ravens now. The regs Lamar is better than an QB on MUT

    Both have they're own challenges.

H2Hs speed disparity makes it way too easy to rack up yards. MUT has turned into a stretch and Gun Tight fest. It's WAY to easy to 1-play.

Bottom line is that SS abilities are ridiculously overpowered and have turned Madden into a joke. What's worse is that Gunslinger hasn't even been introduced yet in MUT. That ability is ups Throw power and QB release time.

I like MUT because it adds more of a Coaching and General Manager feeling to the game, you build your team how you like and it takes a lot of hard work to get there when you're not paying any money like I do. I don't care for single player Franchise mode vs AI, ultra boring - I prefer to play against human intelligence like in real world football. The other reason I like MUT is because I'm good enough to annihilate pay-to-win opponents and I get great satisfaction out of crushing em. I can't really get into the bland vanilla H2H with default teams since I had no role in managing the team's roster, besides I admire the historical NFL players more than I do the modern ones.
  • When I say franchise I’m talking online with 32 users.
  • Translation- We hate MUT. The uniforms are ugly. The equipment is ugly. You all have the same players that looks ugly. Everyone has a lame streaming channel with hopes of being the next Problem Wright. It’s ruined the mode that we like. It’s just overall CORNY! Do away with MUT and make everyone come back to population.
  • the problem it's clearly the gameplay the game lacks various physics issue artificial intelligence data and much more sadly the madden community is MUT take nothing away from them as they pay to play but the core issue is the game engine which none are perfect but this game is broken the movement doesn't feel or look as good as the "sold out stadiums" I play lots of games and EA is far from "in the game" anymore and it's looking like this is where the bus stops for me

How would you feel about a randomized team option? Would be nice to mix it up where both opponents were selected teams of equal value, or if one team was far superior the lower rated team won't lose as many ranking points in the event of a loss.

I'm definitely seeing a lot of Ravens online now too.

How about we just go back to both teams seeing who each intends to play with?
  • Either of the last 2 Posts would be fine with me! But a ranking points system that don’t give many points for using the HOT team is my favorite of the 2
  • And it shouldn’t be detrimental to match up with the offense. Lately, I’ve been matching up In Nickle dime and dollar vs 3 to 4 WRs. But when I do inside zone goes crazy. But if I just stay in a base 3-4 vs 3 to 4 WRs, you can stop the run and also not lose a beat defending the pass.
