Madden 21 Franchise fixes
Just wanted to post some simple fixes to franchise mode. I've been playing since madden 98, and i play all modes (including mobile) but mostly franchise. I really enjoy a realistic experience, and manually edit rosters and draft classes to accomplish that. A few things that seem like really simple fixes...
1. Every franchise i start i have to edit the retired players that only show up in Franchise mode (andrew luck/a bunch of wr) to a terrible ovr then release back into free agency to ensure no crazy things happen to other teams (chiefs sign pierre garcon and cut mecole hardman....) very tedious. Can we have an option to turn off retired players in FA? Seems like a simple fix
2. Coaching staff/OC/DC/scouts and a more realistic coaching carousel. Young OC and DC head coaching candidates would be awesome. Trying to outbid other teams to keep your coaching staff in tact would be a great addition.
3. Have kick return be a trait we can turn on/off for each player. I dont think the cowboys would have zeke returning kicks for them, but his athletic ability alone rates him higher than others. Not realistic seeing zeke, saquan, and derrick henry lead the league in kick return yards.
4. Reduce the hit stick x factor. I just finished a season with the panthers, and keuchly had 20 forced fumbles. When i played the seahawks he had 5 FF. Wagner had 6. Those all would be NFL records by a large margin.
5. Team records. Would make it more fun to track all of your players career progress, not just an elite few. Probably not going to catch Brees on the career passing list with Gorapollo, but i might be able to be in the top 5 of the 49ers list!
6. Reverse the order of the tied records in the record book. Newest first, if i throw 7 touchdowns its very impressive, but if i do it 20 more times it wont show up, but whoever did it in 1948 (sid luckman pops in my head, but i dont think thats right) sita atop the list until someone throws 8.
7. Defensive players formation sub on offense (patrick peterson/charles woodson/jj watt), kinda like being able to put your all purpose guys everywhere in college football (one of the best games ever)
8. Edit all traits in the edit roster before entering franchise. With my updated rookie roster, i have to go around the league and edit each rookie that i think will be a star/superstar for each franchise. Very tedious
9. Better scouting/ better myplayer closer to nba 2k/and a lot of what others are saying about franchise mode. I get MUT is the money maker, but there are thousands who buy the game only for franchise mode, and they deserve more improvements.
Thank you to all that took the time to read this, and i hope everyone is safe!

Thanks for taking the time to post this! We also have a CFM wishlist posted here if you wanted to add these to the ongoing thread.
We'll relay these requests to the team as we see them! Your "Coaching staff/OC/DC/scouts and a more realistic coaching carousel" request is definitely one that I've seen mentioned by players in the forums as of lately.
I've been a die hard madden player for over 20 years. And while i understand y'all make more money off of MUT, it feels that franchise mode has been neglected. The minor tweaks (edit draft class, player training, specialty positions) have been nice and appreciated, a few additions could greatly change public perception.
When people look at other sport games (even sport games made by EA) and see glaring missing features, it makes us envious and frustrated. Looking at nba2k or mlb the show myplayer (not really the storyline, but all you can do in those modes) and even the Road to glory in old NCAA football games, its hard to understand why the greatest sports franchise on the planet cant improve.
Creating a team, or adding an expansion team would be an awesome addition. Madden had it when the texans came into the league and had an expansion draft, and with all these teams moving locations, changing uniforms every year, cities wanting teams, you guys could generate a lot of excitement for fans to have control like that.
And my retired players point seems like such an easy fix. I get some colts fans might like being able to add andrew luck, but do people really like doug martin getting signed to the bears and them cutting tarik cohen? Not realistic at all. Seems like it could be a setting that you can turn on or off like on other games with legends.
Again, thank you for taking the time to read this, and i appreciate your feedback. I know its not easy, and thank you and all the gamechangers that listen and give feedback

Although it's not always great to hear this feedback, we welcome it ad appreciate your thoughts here on the forums. You're not the only one here on the forums to raise concerns around the lack of additions to Franchise mode to meet your expectations, so we'll continue to reach out to the team to let them know of what features players want in the game fill that gap. Sometimes, it could be too late to add requests to an upcoming title so it's either pushed to a post-launch update or future title. It's not all about MUT and franchise is as equally important. For franchise, many of the features being requested involve more work like cinematic cut-scenes for example, so to my point about adding them post-launch, if the team can't get them into one title it doesn't mean it's not ignored feedback, we're listening and it's a feature that could be getting discussed on how to implement it into the game in a way to make it feel worth the wait.
About the fumbles though, are you sure some sliders aren't adjusted to where they fumble more or you changed the way you carry the ball when you're selecting your plays? Change it to conservative if you're still more fumbles to see if that helps. Is it rookies fumbling too often for you?
