[Wednesday Weekly] Missing Customization Options that are Badly Needed

Hello everyone.
So I got the game yesterday, and while there are a lot of things I love about it, there seem to be some pretty glaring omissions from it, specifically with regard to certain customization options. Here's what I'm seeing so far:
CAF Fighter Type
I understand the logic behind keeping OP CAFs away from online matches. That was a serious problem on UFC 3, and I'm glad it was addressed. With that said, you should be able to assign whatever attributes and moves that you want in offline mode. Maybe set it up where you can assign specific moves and attributes to the fighter in offline mode, but are forced to choose a fighter archetype when playing online? That would seem to be a good compromise. You would still prevent OP CAFs from dominating online matches, without sacrificing offline customization options.
Fighter General Info
In addition to name, age, hometown, etc., I'd like to be able to assign a career record to the fighter. Creating someone like Fedor and having a record of 0-0 just looks weird. Maybe that's just me.
Fighter Clothing
A few things stood out when looking at clothing options. With the accessories like necklaces and t-shirts, my assumption was that these items would strictly be pre-and-post-fight attire, but for some reason, my CAFs are wearing their t-shirts when fighting. I don't mind the fact that you can wear this stuff while in the cage, it adds another element of individuality I suppose, but it would make sense to have the option to just designate this gear as pre-or-post fight only.
With the trunks, I like the addition of all the new items, but found it weird that you can't choose trunk colors for the UFC-branded gear beyond black and white. My understanding was that before, the colors you got beyond black and white were based on the nationality of the fighter. So what happened to red, blue, yellow, green, etc.? Seems like a weird omission, and I'd like to see those options come back. As a side note, you should also be able to choose the trunk color for the licensed roster members, like you could before. Seeing two fighters in the cage who are both wearing black trunks or both wearing white trunks shouldn't happen.
My favorite addition to this game might be with the gloves, specifically that you can unlock StrikeForce and Pride gloves ( I know that's a weird thing to pick out as a favorite, but hey, I'm a weird dude.) As much as I enjoy these new additions...it's a bit odd that I can't choose UFC gloves. I mean...this is a UFC game, right? So where's their glove option for the CAFs? Hopefully that gets added soon. Also, if we're adding gloves for now-defunct former UFC competitors, maybe consider adding WEC gloves?
One accessory that I noticed is gone entirely are the ankle wraps. Those are still used by fighters pretty frequently, so I'd like to see that option come back.
Other Observations
With the kumite and backyard venues, I noticed that the regular roster members automatically switch to venue-specific attire, implying they all have sets of attire specifically for those venues. I like that, and would like the same option for the CAFs. Having kumite or backyard-specific gear that's separate from what they'd wear in the regular cage would be a nice addition. (And while we're on the subject of arenas, any chance the old Pride ring gets added? Maybe? Please?)
Going away from character customization, I have a question about the control setup. I thought I'd heard previously that if you didn't like the new ground game controls, you could change things to where it would be more like what you had to work with in UFC 3. Did I hear wrong on this? It doesn't appear that I can change my control setup, and man, I really wish I could. I'm no good on the ground, and I really got used to the button-mashing submission option you were given in UFC 3. I may be overlooking an option in the Settings, and if so, please help.
Looking again at the licensed roster for a moment, I'm happy to see the updates to Wonderboy, Cowboy, Felder and others. Those changes were badly needed, and I'm glad they were finally addressed. I'd like to see something similar done for the following fighters:
- Todd Duffee - I know the guy hasn't been active in years, but his character model just...isn't accurate. In terms of physique, the guy looks like a comic book character come to life, but his character model looks more like a bobblehead with toothpick legs by comparison. The model is a carry-over from UFC 3, and it really needs updated if he's still going to be featured in the game.
- Derek Brunson - From what I can see, he needs the same treatment the developers just gave Paulo Costa, just not quite as extreme. Basically, his shoulders need to be a bit wider.
- Zabit Magomedsharipov - For some reason, his model looks oversized compared to the other featherweights. I know he's big for the division in real life, but his model still seems...off. Like the model needs to be skinnier, and have a smaller head.
That about covers it, I suppose. I'm sure I'll think of more as time passes, but this was the stuff that stood out most after the first day of playing. Hopefully some of these changes/additions are included in future patches.
Oh, and get these guys/girls in the game, please!

I'm glad you mentioned Barboza, because that actually brings up another thing I meant to touch on. Fighters that are featured in multiple weight classes, like him, McGregor, Aldo, Pettis, Cormier etc. need to feature more prominent differences in physique between weight classes. Barboza is noticably more trim as a featherweight than he is at lightweight, and that's especially true when comparing LHW Cormier to HW Cormier.
And yeah, I was afraid I'd not be able to switch the submission minigame. Disappointing, but not surprising. I don't see that changing/being patched anytime soon, so I guess I'll do my best to adapt.
I really do like the game, but implementing the changes mentioned above would really put this over the top for me.
I actually wrote an entire post about that here. Lol.

I’d recommend tagging one of the devs in any thread you make like this that you want them to see. They’ve actually been communicating on here, and addressing some of the things we’ve been talking about. So, you never know.
Hopefully it gets the urgent attention it deserves but I’m sure Blueberry will get that across abundantly clear.
- TJ Dillashaw's character model needs a bit more work. He seems like he needs the same thing done that they recently did to Wonderboy. His head looks too big, and they need to widen his shoulders. That, and he could use toned up a bit, too.
- Mickey Gall looks a bit too big, especially for 170. His model needs to be slimmed down from where it's at currently.
- Mike Perry's model could use some tweaking. Make his head slightly smaller, and buff him up.
- Anthony Smith looks WAY too big. In both divisions. He's leaner than that.
- Francis Ngannou's head is a little too big. A bit smaller and he'd look more accurate.
My guess is these could be fixed in a patch similar to what we got just prior to release. Hopefully these, and the others mentioned in the original post, get some attention soon.
Custom options for caf stats and moves, different colour shorts and I really miss flags in the main menu, when you choose fighters.
I think both of these problems can be solved by using character body/hair models already in the game such as Grasso, Dern, JJ, Waterson, etc
Also, some clothing options that would be great additions would be sleeveless tanktops like the ones used it backyard fights among other things.
These would go a long way in allowing us to make better cafs and shouldn't be too hard to implement since it's using assets already in the game.
yeah, the male body types are on point this time around, and I can make virtually any fighter I can think of, movesets/attributes aside.
But it's almost impossible for me to cook up a decent Clarissa Shields, Gina Carano, Megumi Fujii, or Marloes Coenen. The options just aren't there which is sad after 6 years
No kidding, womens/men's flyweight can't even fill up a full screen of "top fighters" it's so slim. Maycee should have been a shoe in as well as Ribas. Women typically get left behind in sports games but EA has had them in the UFC games since the beginning, they should be done better than this.
And to correct you I'm pretty sure Aspen Ladd is in the game. I only know this because I'm sure I knocked her noodle loose a few times with cyborg lol
