Gridiron Notes: Franchise Updates Coming to Madden NFL 21
Hey Franchise Fans,
It’s been a few weeks since the last blog and we want to share our timing and plans for the first of three planned franchise mode updates for Madden NFL 21.
As we mentioned in our last update, this work requires a lot of planning and careful implementation. However, before we get into the specifics of the update, we want to let you know that our goal is to ensure all planned updates made to franchise mode this year will not require you to restart a franchise to have access to additions made to the mode.
We have been listening to your feedback and are targeting mid-November for the first of the three planned post launch franchise updates, which will address community requests including:
As always, thank you for your passion and feedback for Madden NFL. As we’re working through implementation on these things, things on this list might change. And, we look forward to sharing a firm day with you for the title update once we have it.
Make sure to tune into Good Morning Madden every weekday morning on Twitch where we talk through your feedback and provide insight into the development process.
Thanks,
Madden NFL Team

We have been listening to your feedback and are targeting mid-November for the first of the three planned post launch franchise updates, which will address community requests including:
- X-Factor/Superstar Ability Customization: This highly requested feature by the community allows commissioners to assign X-Factors to any player via the edit player feature. Once a player has met the criteria to unlock an X-Factor ability, commissioners will be able to edit their player's Superstar abilities and Superstar X-Factor ability by selecting from those available within his position group. Users will have control over this functionality in both offline and online Franchises.
- Player Card Career Stats UI: A top community request for several years now, the team is revamping the statistics on the player card to include more context in season stats, like week, opponent, and outcome, while also providing what team the player was on for every year of their career.
- Dev Trait Regression Tuning: The team is doing tuning work to player development traits in Franchise mode to ensure a proper balance of Superstar and X-Factor players when progressing multiple years in a Franchise.
- Playoff Bracket: A visual playoff bracket will be added into the game that reflects the new Wild Card format, allowing users to see the full playoff picture.
As always, thank you for your passion and feedback for Madden NFL. As we’re working through implementation on these things, things on this list might change. And, we look forward to sharing a firm day with you for the title update once we have it.

Can you at least fix back the ability to edit custom draft players names and not lose the audio ? That should be a quick fix you can do in an upcoming title. You did in 19 when you first launched custom draft classes
Those 4 features up there are targeted for mid November
EDIT: This post was apparently deleted so I’ll just delete my response because it’s irrelevant.

Are you going to fix the issue with online/offline franchise mode? It will not let us arrange our formation subs! It freezes up!. How many weeks will we have to wait for it to be addressed?!
The power of commish to resume a game when will be featured?
Please fix Madden Franchise mode player editing. The transaction screen should show details of what was edited to protect the integrity of the game. This is a crucial issue for franchise mode because many leave multiple leagues every year because of it. Please fix this with the next update.
Another feature that would be totally awesome is if other league members could watch league games from some form of a NFL camera view even if there’s a delay. This would enhance Franchise play. This sounds like a Madden 22 thing but would really heighten interest back in Franchise mode! Almost like the rest of the league is watching NFL Sunday. This is important because many franchise players don’t like sharing their screen and showing their playbook and audibles to other opponents.
Thanks so much for your time!
There will be stability improvements for franchise in tomorrow's Title update. Please keep me updated on whether you're still crashing.
