UFC-Branded Gear
I know the trunk color selection issue has been brought up and discussed countless times in previous threads, but I started thinking about that again the other day, and thought of another issue that may be coming up in the not-so-distant future.
My understanding is that the UFC will be transitioning away from Reebok and toward Venum in 2021 for their apparel/fight kits. Meaning that the UFC will likely debut some mockups for the new gear in a more official capacity sometime soon, similar to what they did with Reebok when they initially partnered with them.
That being the case, should we expect to see a patch that removes the currently-featured Reebok gear in favor of whatever new getups that Venum develops? If so, is that why there's been no movement on the current UFC trunk color issues in the game? Just thinking out loud here, didn't know if one had anything to do with the other.

I agree that some of the stuff that's missing from this year's game is surprising to say the least, but I'm genuinely curious if the pending Venum deal has something to do with the absence of movement on the trunk color issue that keeps coming up. It's something that's referenced practically every week, both here and on the official Discord chats.
That's a great question. I'll try to get an answer for you.
My guess would be no, unless there is specific licensing agreements in a contract to remove them from the game. We've been sharing suggestions for gear along to the team and hopefully they will be able to add more in the future.
That's great to hear. With regard to the gear itself, I can appreciate the inclusion of the unique trunks, gloves, hats/masks, etc. I get the appeal. It all certainly adds a new element to things.
With that said, my hope is that things will improve with the official UFC gear in the game. With this being the sports simulation title that it is, authenticity has to be a big focus. Trunk color selection, ankle wraps, red/blue corner color tape on the UFC gloves. Little details like that go a long way in making the final product better. Happy to hear that this is all being shared with the developers.
Heard back the team is aware of questions that may come up leading up to and for the transition into the Venum gear. We're unfortunately a bit out on the official details to share right now so expect more concrete info in the future, be on the lookout!
Good to hear. Off topic, but I hope Venum does more to promote individuality among the fighters than what Reebok did. It took two companies moving heaven and earth to get *one* fighter a pair of camo shorts as a fight kit in place of the boring monochromatic stuff everyone else wears. No sense in that whatsoever.
