Depth Chart

I am soooo aggravated with not being able to set up my franchise depth chart the way we were able to last year by releasing players to leave open spots in the depth order. Now the cpu just puts autos players in. So frustrating I’ve tried so many combinations to figure out how to remove players. Does anyone have a work around for this. Please help. And if one does not exist - then this is another deplorable aspect of the game - EABlue this needs to be addressed
