Simulation style

If simulation is supposed to be the most realistic based on ratings, then why do my defensive backs run away from the ball as soon as the cpu throws it? Every receiver is covered, yet as soon as the ball is thrown, my guy runs away and leaves the receiver wide open. Yet CPU defensive backs magically know where the ball is going as soon as I press the button? There's no balance in the game, the cpu A.I. still plays so much different than mine. If it's based off ratings, my players should react in a similar manner as the CPU, correct?
