Major H2H Gameplay issue for me in MUT

Help -- does anyone else's controller kind of "go dead," so to speak, during MUT H2H modes? I don't mean I can't move, but I can't juke, spin, hurdle, or use the right stick to do anything on offense. On defense, sometimes it won't let me attempt a hit stick.

I'm on Xbox One, and I don't have this kind of issue with any other game, EA sports or otherwise. Wondering if I'm the only one. Was hoping a fix would come with the August update, but no such luck.
