I wish they would update the player creation that way draft classes were more realistic and players didn’t share faces! I wish they’d add an honest halftime show/weekly update with highlights and news from other games around the league. I wish they add legends and legendary teams to PLAY NOW game modes and customizable franchise where you could control the 07 Patriots and face up against the 85 Bears, 06 Colts, Ray Lewis/Ed Reed Era Ravens! 2k already has this! Please add more ideas, I’d loved to discuss! Hopefully they’ll listen, the next Madden is their last chance before I’m done, I will no longer pre-order or buy at launch.
Here comes my wishlist for Madden franchise mode (the mode I buy the game for)
- HC / GM Mode: No control of the players, just calling the plays. In an ideal world the QB calls Audibles depending on his PRC/AWR skills.
- Better tools/figures to calculate the financial status for the running and coming seasons. I´d like to see the salaries and capspace (incl. rookie-reserve) for the upcoming season depending on the actual contracts at all time.
- In Owner Mode I wanna be able to see a weekly/monthly/yearly based balance of income and expanses.
- Much more spots to choose from if you´re going to relocate your team. As player from germany I would appreciate Frankfurt (Galaxy), Düsseldorf (Rhein Fire), Berlin (Thunder) and Hamburg (Blue Devils) as former NFL Europe teams. All the other former NFL Europe/World teams/location would be great, too.
- A whole coaching staff (OC; DC, ****-Coaches, etc.) with skills influencing the development of players and team
- Team development: beside the individual dev of the players, it would be great to have kind of a team skill. This skill should depend on amount of training in a specific style (like 3-4. 4-3, Shotgun, I-Form etc) and giving bonus or malus when you call those plays.
- Player connection: there should be a benefit from players that stick together over time (like Brady-Edelman-Gronk, or Montana-Rice)
- Team Spirit: Depending on success, Coaching skills and the personality of the players. Guys like Antonio Brown and his behaviour shold have an impact on the team
- Off the field issues: Good stuff: community (Walter Payton?), family etc. and bad stuff (doping, crime, financial trouble etc.) should impact the game via random events (based on the players personality, morale, the above mentioned team spirit and coaching skills like decipline)
- NFL Commissioner influence: Why not include rule changes (that could be accepted or denied) from time to time, or even an expansion (e.g. new divisions in overseas)
I generally whish more "personality" to come into franchise mode. Right know it does not feel like that.

That´s it for now
Good feedback. I have to say I like the Walter Payton of the Year idea but I don’t see them ever doing random doping suspensions, wouldn’t be really fair for a players image and the NFL wouldn’t like it. I would like to see EA incorporate active suspensions though through Live Franchise because suspensions don’t count against the 53 man roster but in live franchise you’ll end up over the roster limit or random players being dropped from your team. An idea would be 4 game suspension = 4 week injury because players designated as injured don’t count against the roster limit either.
Madden I honestly thought madden 20 was the best madden yet. For me, it took a big step forward this year. With that being said, I buy the game strictly for franchise mode to play with my buddies and this mode once again lacks attention and needs major upgrades. -Coaching- This series has been around long enough that there should be a full coaching carousel. We should be able to have/hire Head coach Offense Coordinator Defense Coordinator Special Teams Position coaches Training staff Personnel dept. Hire players as coaches when they retire. Preseason-Training Camp -Bring back training camp - it was a fun interactive way to build up players that you wanted to focus on -prior to week 1 of preseason they should let you pick up to 4 position battles in camp/preseason that’s up for grabs. Have week by week comparison stats, etc -Holdouts- Every year there’s a player or few that are in contract years that hold out for new contract. Same should be applied here. Cut Day- Before final cuts are made. Teams that cut veteran/or surprise players typically try to trade them first. Vice versa. I should be able to see if I can trade someone before flat out cutting them and same for cpu teams. -Waiver Claims - just like the NFL... a player that gets cut should go in order of waivers. This isn’t the wild Wild West. The nfl has order so should Madden franchise. During the season. - Trades/Trade deadline. CPU teams should offer you trades in season as a pop up menu. A revamped trade logic, draft picks are way too easy to obtain. Some players are way too easy today acquire - All- Pro Teams - Career Stats, Record Stats, All time stats, single season, game, career stats. Top 10/50/100 leaders. Should be way more in depth. - Jersey Retirements - Playoff Scenario Standings starting at week 8/9. - Mock Drafts starting at week 8/9 via bleacherreport, ESPN, Nfl.com - Advanced stats - Team stats( all time win-losses, playoff record, championships, division titles, conference titles, wins against all 32 individuals opponents head to head, etc - Player profiles w career stats & accolades, career earnings. In game fixes/updates -Play challenging. I should be able to pick what I want to challenge. Madden doesn’t even let you challenge half the time leas alone challenge the call you actually want reviewed. -Injuries. Let’s make it seem more realistic w training staff, cart if needed. -The crowd- do I even need to say more? It’s looked the same since the first version of madden on PS4. Let’s add some chants, real atmospheres, big moments, real weather with more than 4 basic options, weather delays, if it’s raining? Maybe it stops, or if it’s not snowing but it starts in the 2nd half. Sideline needs more emotion, in depth graphic, currently I see players on sideline w their numbers but no name on the back of the jersey on the sideline. -I really liked what they did with the Xfactor. It was a great starting point but it definitely can be improved moving forward with more realistic goals, stats, gameplan. Maybe instead of asking a receiver to get 4tds or 200 yards in a random single game, maybe you have 2 games to have a chance or change it based off a quarter or half season performance. Offseason- -Personnel positions GM Director of player personnel Assistant Analytics Head Scout + 3-5 other scouts by region -Retirement- talk players out of retirement, option to offer them coaching position or personnel position. -Hall of fame- should have a list of nominees then you get to vote your picks, etc, etc. have a hall of game ceremony. -The scouting & Draft needs a complete overhaul its so stale. Let’s start by adding a senior bowl, a combine, mock drafts, cpu teams offering realistic trades, rework the whole draft presentation. Following after draft. Have press conference w your rookies (at least 1 & 2nd round picks) and you can choose their jersey numbers during that time. -5th year options needed to be tweak with the $$$. Add RFA/UFA. Franchise tag, compensatory picks, more realistic salary cap, budget, financial plan/budget.
I think that the consensus of the Madden community is to update Franchise Mode for Madden 21. To be honest, it's ridiculous how it's been years since Franchise has been significantly improved. Here are the features that need to be included in next year's game. (based on other wishlists and my own opinion)
COACHING CAROUSEL
This is something I really don't understand why hasn't already been implemented. I don't know much about the naming rights of these coaches but that's not a problem. EA, let us change the names, just create a system for it. Offensive coordinators and defensive coordinators at the least should be included. What about the head coach hiring process? Can't that be made more realistic (conducting interviews)? The other thing I will say about coaching is that better coaches should have better play suggestions. They essentially make better calls. Also, why, in player career mode, does the player choose the play??
CAREER MODE
Ah, career mode. One day you will be appreciated by EA. Why can't we play our senior year of high school, play four years of college, make REAL LIFE decisions that have consequences, go to the combine (the 40yd dash, vertical jump), go to a Pro day, meet with teams, and finally get drafted? And be able to play any position (including o lineman). I know it's a lot to ask but you've done nothing for the past five years so surprise us with a really in-depth career mode. I'll send a thank you card in advance.
so where a another wishlist i feel what we need and to make madden great again
1. say goodbye to ultimate team
2. we need a full coaching staff from head coach to special team coaches use fake names we dont care
3. fix the crowd noise make it sound like the real life stadiums chat
4. please bring in a new scouting system
5. fix the weather it poor
6. please bring in new stadiums options that we can choose to pick when we choose a new stadium
7. please fix a problem when another players hand feet head and body goes threw another players body
8. please bring back a talk show u guys used to have this and its fun to have again
9. please bring back training camp for the pre-season
10. please change the score board to the real life score boards like cbs or fox or espn or nbc
11. please fix the sidelines
12 please put the refs back on the field
i know you have the time and the money to put half of this in the game it will be a big disappointment if half of this is not in madden 21 franchise mode i know you guys can do better then previous years its time for a change cuz soon all your fans will get tired and quit buying your games please focus on franchise mode this year give ultimate team mode a break it doesn't need new features cuz its them same thing every year so please focus on franchise mode
Many great ideas to pimp the franchise mode! Hopefully some of them will make it into Madden21! But as I cant see any official feedback or statements, I dont really believe so :(
Maybe we have to find some ideas how they can implement microtransactions to get EAs attention to our concerns? Some ideas I consider to pay some extra money for (if they improve the rest as mentioned above) - additional Towns to move the team to - real cool stadiums to build (in addition to the standard we got now) - they could sell the optional team equipment (like color rush and historicals) - historical settings (seasons with the original histroic teams/rosters of that time) - Office upgrades (style the office with some cool stuff) - Extra options to design your own coach (looks, equipment, etc)
And other stuff like this. I bet they will generate some extra money worth the additional work they´ll have to spend on it.
I think there’s a lot to be done with the contracts but an easy wish would be to make it possible to download an entire spreadsheet of the nfl including player salaries, bonuses and years left on contract. Really looking for a better way to manage contracts, preferably with excel! Let me know if anyone’s found a way
Need to commend the developers for continuing to tweak and better this mode. Some 2021 improvements:
Share your suggested CFM improvements! Here are mine:
Commissioner Tools:
· Ability to change abilities on superstar and x-factor players
· Ability to turn off certain abilities league-wide. IE, if the CFM determines one is overpowered/too arcade, or doesn’t fit well within their rules, they can turn it off.
· For auto-draft classes, what about the addition of class-wide sliders? IE, how likely an UDFA or late-round projected pick is decent?
Player Management:
· Make X-factors make sense for players. IE a cornerback earning “selfless” and having barely any chance at getting three hit stick tackles in a game.
Offseason:
· Fifth-year option: It was nice this was added, but it needs tweaks. Salary requirements are different for top-10 picks and 11-32. The presentation and cap ramifications need to be laid out clearer, as well as what they may want in terms of a contract extension that is not the fifth-year option.
- Bring back coaching carousel, and bring back coordinators. Back in the day retired players ended up in this pool -- i thought that was awesome! IMO important to make this a bidding process for CFM that's similar to FA.
· Draft stories/scouting
o Points should transfer over week to week without being cut in half (IE, 200 points unused in Week 3 becomes 100 added to Week 4’s 200 points). This helps with owner turnover and making the draft fair for users inheriting a team, especially when that team has a poor record/high pending draft pick .
o Draft stories often paint a picture of who’s who among the top picks throughout the year, but for the same reason above, them disappearing after league advances creates unfair advantages. What would really help us understand draft classes more would be…
o Mock drafts! Experts share their mocks at certain points of the season – halfway point, Weeks 15-17, maybe once in the playoffs and once in free agent stage? A brief explanation on each player would help.
o Most other sports games (and I believe Madden at some point) have included brief notes on the player. Give us some hints on the traits they’ll have, not just physical specs. I know NHL 20 drafts are like this and have been.
o I think all of these tools available but not necessarily being used by everyone still gives the more savvy, interested user a leg-up, but allows newcomers or more casual users that end up picking in the Top 10 a higher chance of not picking a complete bust.
o Adding a few more deep picks (4th through 7th round) that may have low awareness or something that makes them rough around the edges but have good star development and are hard to determine they’ll be good. In a competitive league, rounds 3-7 tend to be a waste of time because even if a player was projected to go late, they were scouted and plenty of users realized they should go 1st or 2nd round.
o I think presentation is fine and not a high priority to change up, but two tweaks could make things easier:
§ Easy trading DURING the draft. No CFM I’m in has a way or allows trading during the draft, but obviously this would be nice if say, you’re picking 8 but the 3 guys you like all get picked and you want to trade down.
§ Easier organized draft boards. Also, “Hold to re-order” gets stuck on the screen ALL THE TIME.
§ The ability to call a timeout during the draft. I believe this is a thing in the NFL.
o Undrafted FAs: There should be a phase where we can see their traits but need to put in waiver claims for these guys rather than a frenzy post-draft.
Free Agency:
· Most leagues try to put a rough time frame for advances and the commissioners advance at a random time to prevent people from swooping in last-minute for outbidding teams. A few ideas to make this smoother:
o Allow an option for commissioner to choose a random time frame for advance and the CPU does it for you. In example, Free Agency Stage 2 is open until 11 a.m. EST. You, the commissioner, could set it to advance at a random time between 11 a.m. and 11:15, or 11 a.m. and noon, etc. and the computer could advance the league at any time.
o Players who teams are making high bids on hold out for a potential bidding war from time to time.
· The same way you get feedback from players during the re-sign stage, how about feedback on your offer?
o Points should be available based on team location, winningness of the team, and who else is currently at the position. Currently the only thing other than money that factors in is scheme fit from what I can see.
· Some positions like QB end up with a ton of players who are asking for way more than anyones willing to pay them.
· Some leagues end up with a large surplus of talented running backs, so addressing this in some way could be good.
In-season Free Agency:
· Please add the ability to offer more than a specific 1-year deal
· If it is a 1-year deal, please check how much they’re asking for. For example, if Derek Carr gets cut by the Raiders mid-season, I doubt he will sit out because no team has $18M in cap space to sign him if there’s a favorable scenario for him – he’d sign whatever deal he could get to be a part of a team.
· A waiver program/option for commissioners to use would be awesome. Most leagues require certain overalls go through waiver claims managed on a website or chat.
Additional presentation:
- Add custom coach appearance options. What if we can mold them from an emoji? Can we add some available coaches not assigned to a team?
- Enhance the home screen. I'm tired of looking at the coach pace around the desk at this point.
- Consider enhancing overall news and making that a part of the homepage. Remember that radio show in franchise? Something like this -- imagine the updated content from each update to keep it fresh!
More tools for commissioners - Trade approval for all trades and releases, would be incredible for online leagues so players don't roster dump. Improvements to roster editing and draft class editing - Adding injuries and injury lengths to active players and readjusting the projected pick order for drafts is infuriating.
Two of the biggest things I want to see in madden franchise mode is first, create a team/league back from importing custom teams or at least a full expansion of relocation teams so we can actually relocate every team. Also if you don't want to have the community use custom logo's you can just use the relocation team logos you already have for people to adjust by changing the color and things of that nature but uniforms, stadiums and other customizable options should be available to bring creativity back to the game mode.
The second biggest adjustment I feel really needs to be made is presentation. Thats what the goal of franchise mode is is to feel fully immersed in games. speed up the game in online head-to-head but in franchise there should be an in depth presentation and please make a better halftime show. It honestly hasn't been good to watch at all since the PS2/Xbox days. Presentation is a must guys.
Back in the day EA used to have chat room within the Madden game itself. You could see a person's DNF or do not finish percentage. So I know the technology is available. Speaking for us people who love franchise mode and put in our hard earned time and energy to run online franchises. Please make a way for us to see how many leagues a person has joined, quit, or got booted from before we waste our time inviting them to our league. Give us a way to check reputation it's frustrating and time consuming talking to someone about ur league for an hour only to have them quit as soon as they start to lose a game.

Player retirement override just like in 2k my league
Improvements to roster editing and draft class editing - Adding injuries and injury lengths to active players and readjusting the projected pick order for drafts is infuriating.
