If I haven’t played the team yet why does madden show highlights of both teams

Doesn’t make any sense to show both teams playing each other if we haven’t played yet lol ... I rather see real life highlights of past games

I always look at it as a previous matchup they've had in the past, although I see how it can be confusing when they haven't played before (especially with rookie involved). We've seen chatter about this in other spaces and relayed these thoughts to the team.
  • Yea ea has the rights with nfl so why not give us highlights for specific players from real life

You see some clips from Lamar Jackson at the title screen, right there with you on that though. It would be cool to see that incorporated into the pre-game and I'm sure it's been brought up through discussions. I imagine it could be a technical limitation or hurdle.

Real life footage is cool but I'd also like to see touchdown or big plays from my actual franchise season shown in the pre-game so the season is more authentic to what's happening at the moment than constantly seeing the same video highlights.

Yea but madden 05 had the radio which spoke about recent games in 2005 so it should be that difficult to add old highlight clips of the star players pre game .
  • Can't put real life footage into franchise because players change teams and it wouldn't look good. Remember years ago when they introduced the QBs with real life footage? Looked weird in franchise if that QB changed teams.
  • So they can’t have it so when a player is removed it doesn’t show ? Like how the host can say player names but once traded they talk about other players
