• I know it’s been said but a robust coaching tree/carousel

I’ve made a post about having coordinators & positional coaches make up the playbook, but having these coaches get hired for higher positions.

But the key is ability to hire these coaches & them make a difference to the game play through their playbook additions & any multipliers they may have.
•
Roster/Depth Chart overhaul: (Particularly in Franchise mode)

Time to switch up the old stale one that's been around for years.
Position groups should be renamed, which would go hand-in-hand with franchise AI logic improvement.
Instead of the current, one size fits all depth charts, incorporate a hybrid of the format that the team websites use & reorganizing the "specialist" positions. Positions that show up would be based on the playbook type instead of just a standard depth chart.
My mock-up
Depth chart
Position
QB. 1 | 2 | 3 |4
RB
-3DB (3rd down)
-SYB (short yrd)
-FB (notate as optional based on playbook)
WR
-Slot
TE
-H-Back
Slash **(Think Taysom Hill, Laviska Shenault)**
Off Tackles
-LT
-RT
Interior Lineman
-LG
-RG
-C

Interior DL
-4/5Tech
-3Tech
-1Tech(NT)
-0Tech (NG/goalline)
Ends/Edge Rushers
-R
-L
LB
-OLB
--Weak (Right)
--Strong (Left)
-MLB
-ILB (3-4)
--1
--2
DBs
-LCB
-RCB
-Slot
-Saf
--FS
--SS

Most of this coding is already in the game, just needs renaming & reorganizing.

Would also be nice to bring back the ability to actually "create" new uniforms from the teams current color schemes and not just reorganize the current combinations you already have listed.
(For example, if it was the Cowboys, creating a navy/navy uniform option with a white helmet)
I think they should also add a Longsnapper position.
• This is a mix between commissioner tools & just a franchise features

limit the things users can edit about a player in a Connected franchise. Maybe an option on creation/settings allowing what players can edit to not detract players from editing these things in their own franchises. Being able to edit players position, then resign them for peanuts causes headaches as a commissioner.

-Recruiting for CF’s it’d be nice for you guys to have a hub to recruit players/leagues to join.

-a better tool to allow scheme changes on defense & position edits for those schemes while still limiting OoP changes that ruin the realism. (Maybe when creating a coach allow us to edit our scheme & allow a template to edit positions from there. & then another time to edit scheme during offseason?)
• maybe a return of the Connected Franchise Website w/ a tool for "Free Agents/league finder"
• I can't believe I never thought of this before, but its insane that there is no way to restart a user franchise game that ended by a disconnect or desync just like the game allows for with CPU games in franchise. So many times I've played games in 32-user CFMs where the game desync's or someone disconnects and we have to completely start over because we lost all our player stats.
• For multi user leagues:

Multiple Free agent offers for non-offseason free agents as well as a functioning waiver free agency before they hit open market( & then multiple offers for them to deliberate)

Rather than the first come first served free agency
• I am an avid offline CFM player. Here are some of my thoughts.....
This is mainly to go more in detail on the Coach/Owner CFM side of things, not much about gameplay or "superstar mode".
I know this is long but I feel strongly about this mode and think these are must haves for MADDEN.

1. We all love the NFL draft/Free agency period. For M22, instead of starting in the preseason week 1 add an option to be able to start on the first day of the League year (ex March of 2021). So you are able to change what your team does in the free agency and draft ( basically re-do what you think your team should have done).
Example say you love the Jags and for the first round pick in real life they chose Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 NFL Draft. Well in Madden 22 if you think they should have went a different way and either traded the pick to accumulate more picks ( jags need it) or choose another prospect/QB. I think that would be really neat. A new way to experience the n"if"l. There is already a podcast like this on nfl.com so they wouldn't be against this.

2. Speaking of the draft. It needs way more detail. Its pretty bland right now. It should resemble what we will see on ESPN or NFL Network in real life. Have the commissioner come out and say the first round picks. Show the different celebrations/hugs. Have the draftee show his jersey. I would like flowing commentary. Basically just talking about what the current team needs are and where they may go. After they pick a player talk about that player and if it was a good/bad pick for them. Or where they should have went. Commentary could go a long way here.
Also it would be neat for mock drafts to periodically get released from Mcshay and brooks and others. The last one would obviously have to be Kiper. Scouting is too basic right now. We need a complete overhaul of the scouting. It should be a little description of the type of player they are. We should know a lot about the player but not stats should be shown. Also there needs to be more hidden gems in the later rounds M21 was good but M22 can make it better. Speaking of hidden gems, UDFA needs to have its own period. Right after the draft, It can be just like the Free Agency period but have multiple teams offer players to fill their rosters. I would say barely show anything as regarding to the skill or attributes. These players should mostly be busts and low overall, but have a handful of studs ( example doug baldwin, antonio gates etc. ). Basically its like the luck of the draw.
Last the trade logic for picks need overhaul. For the first overall pick a team would have to wager a lot to get it, its too easy right now to get that pick in CFM.

3.Coaching carousel is a must. Every year OC / DC/ ST coaches take new positions. In M21 you basically just pick you new head coach with out anything. For M22 it should go much deeper. Please interview 2 or 3 coaches to take the new position, heck even include the Rooney Rule. Also you should have to request interviews from other teams to interview their coordinators ( it could be declined or approved). OC/ DC/ ST coaches should be included and have a nice boost to certain stats depending on how good their are. They should also come with their own playbooks, so if you are looking for a New OC you may want to search for a coach that has the same scheme as you used to run to not decline any of players ratings and/or confidence. Also you should be able to bring back ex players from your team to be coaches ( This shouldn't be used very often) The ex player would have to have a certain legacy score and be a legend of the team (example for the packers would be say Brett Farve or Aaron Rodgers after he retires). There have been a lot of former players turned coaches. I know ea doesn't own the rights to the coaches other than the head coach so if these name have to be made up do it that way ( make it so we can edit the names)

4. At the End of every season I know we now have a play able probowl. However, we should go a little further. Players should get awards for being an ALL PRO. Heck, I would even love to see a list of the Top 100 players. To see who deserves to be Number 1. It would be a cool little bragging right in 32 man cfm leagues.

5. Contracts. These have to change. There should be back loaded/ front loaded/ equal. Also include guaranteed money, workout/ roster bonuses ( those would help in free agency to help lure a player to your team). Its as simple as adding a few formulas, this would also help with teaching people how contracts work. Included in this should be the restructuring of older contracts, obviously the player will have the chance to accept or decline it (which could change their fate with the team, ie cut them) but have a way to keep an aging player for less. Or to simply help you out of the CAP Room hell.

6. Free Agency. I know I covered this a little bit earlier but In past maddens it had the players interest in your bids. In M21 you literally just have to get more points than the other teams (first off, we should never be able to see the points), which is basically just guess and check to beat the top bid. M22 should go back to what M15 had, Coach Ability, Scheme fit, Team Need, Location, Contact.. All of that matters in real life for a player to choose say the Steelers over the Browns. Also if you lose a UFA you should get a Comp pick. Again there is a formula for this. You would have to lose more than you receive. Add more strategy to the free agency period.
Comp Picks are needed in this game. It will add the realism of letting a player walk to potentially get that 3rd round pick.

7. Depth chart changes.. please include LS and a RB committee. Every year the first person I cut off my team is their long snapper, you also make them a TE with a Overall as 46 or something. Poor guys (long snappers are people too ). There are only 53 roster spots please make each team have to keep a LS if they do not, then bad snaps can happen. Right now there is never a bad snap, but you should make it so if you do not have a long snapper than you risk having bad snaps. Risk/reward option here. As far as RB committee goes, most NFL teams run 2 RBs, some teams have a work horse. The Ravens are a clear idea here, Ingram, Edwards & Dobbins. They split carries every couple of plays. I would like to do that in CFM without having to change all the auto subs ( they rarely work correctly no matter how many forums I read or changes I make)

8. This last thing could be an option to do anywhere during the season/off season. Tryouts. When I'm looking at Free Agents or UDFA. I want to try them out in practice mode before I elect to give them a contract. I need to see real quickly how they are on my team. A simple hot key addition to the CFM player card.

9. We need to be able to see the future draft classes. I need to know whether to go for the top QB this year or wait until next year because that class is deep in QB. That will help a lot for every position. It would help me to know whether I NEED to get that guy or I could wait a year and get the top man. OR say next year has no QB that I like. It then would make me do what ever it takes to get the man this year. Teams always look at the future when drafting, We should know as well. It should only show 1 year in the future. There should be commentary or a news story that tells me about the draft. Whether its deep in DL or weak in CB. Every year in the Real NFL Draft scouts know that the class is deep/weak is certain positions. This year for example, every one is talking about how the 2019 Draft was very deep for DL. The 2020 draft was pretty strong with QB (Tua, Burrow, Herbert). However, GM's knew that a stud was coming in 2021. suck for Trevor Lawrence (Jags). Heck, they even knew the OSU QB Justin Fields will declare. Teams know what's coming in the future. Madden should reflect this. That would be helpful in madden.

If you have read it this far thank you. I have a lot more ideas for the future of this mode and "superstar mode" EA get with me!
• These two videos just about sum it up for me regarding Madden. Every year I hope and have faith that SOMETHING will be different but every year I feel the same disappointment. EA PLEASE, PLEASE, LISTEN TO US! Please. We're only trying to help. I know I am not the first (won't be the last) to say that ya'll are slacking big time in my opinion. Do you think 2K would be having these issues right now? You never hear of this issue with their Franchise/Career Mode? Please listen and deliver on whatever changes you proclaim to be planning to make.

I am with you and so are a lot of people on here. Unfortunately there are to many players and kids who love spending their parents money on micro transactions and it’s all EA cares about. As long as the money keeps flowing they could care less about real simulation football. These people don’t want that MUT the yard is arcade football no strategy other than buying coins/cards and gimmick plays. If EA cared once someone won the championship with a punter at QB they would of made major changes and been embarrassed. Instead they count their money all the way to the bank. So players that want real simulation football we are stuck playing the maddens of old or 2k/AllPro football.
• I’m a long time Madden Player. I believe the franchise mode on the cloud is the best thing that ever happened. The ability to create and run a team in franchise mode against other online players is wonderful. My problem is this, the ability to play against these online players is very frustrating. You can sit there, Send an invite, to a team that you’re ready to play and they won’t play you. There should be a penalty to this. Also the ability to play their team after a few attempts to play the real owner online, should happen. Also, rage grief quitting. That should be penalized especially if I’m kicking that person’s ****.

Just a suggestion. In Madden 21 the bruiser ability is on Nick Chubb who is a running back. If you play franchise mode the bruiser ability is only available to wide receivers. I accidentally removed it from Chubb in my franchise I'm in with my friends and now I can't it back because he I not a wide receiver. If you could pass it along as feedback to add this in the next update
• A suggestion that would be a huge game changer and would make for interesting franchises rather it a massive online one, or one with friends or solo.

Change concept of Owner, Coach, and Player. I will elaborate on each of these below as to what I mean by this.

Owner: Picking the owner means you control finances, salary, stadium, fans, etc etc. But while in game you watch from the owner booth and would be given certain communication options with your head coach to help him be able to call plays.

Coach: Picking the coach role would have normal franchise abilities, but in game would be similar to Head Coach 09 where you call offense and defense plays, but you watch from side line and you may get owner communication as to what he thinks should happen.

Player: Picking the player role would be the only way to be on the field, the full on field control would still be an option, but it should be off by default and you would just need to turn it on. Commissioners would have control over that option in league to ensure everyone in the league has a fair shot.

Definitely!!! Totally agree
• 1. Coaching carousel and coaching skills tree, it would make franchise mode so much more enjoyable and emersive expesualy if the skill tree was included to have different coaches be able to exell in certain aspects of coaching a game
2. Custom playbooks/ plays make it so we can make plays like in head coach 09 and our own playbooks like the ncaa games
3. Either create a team or brand new relocation options, the relocation teams have been the same since the xbox 1 ps4 era and makes relocation franchises pointless when it should be one of the more fun ways to play your franchise mode
4. (Longshot idea) a coach career similar to head coach 09 were you can go through and play as a coach calling plays and having control over your cordanators and position coaches
• CPU BLOCKBUSTER TRADES

- CPU teams never make large trades involving draft picks/superstar players
• I just had an idea --- a "Memorable Plays" feature. Logistically, it'd be something to figure out... but it would be amazing for immersion.

What if there was a system as we're playing to highlight a play as a Memorable Play, and the game saved it as a replay? What if, the CPU generated a memorable play for each game of the week, and we had an option to watch and vote on it? What if, at the end of the year, we could watch all the Memorable Plays of the year and vote on the Play of the Year?

What if the system was advanced enough that we could put in a description and name the play? What if we can designate plays as Hall of Fame-worthy and they granted Legacy Points?

---

Imagine you have a Titans Franchise and you're playing in the 2023 Super Bowl against the Seahawks, losing 17-15. It's 3rd and 4, with a minute to play in the game, and you're on the Seahawks 17 yard line. You run a sweep to Derrick Henry. He takes the ball, Bobby Wagner runs over, and you land the perfect truck on him and you get the first down as a swarm of Seahawks defenders take you down. You double-tap the Right Stick to flag it for review after the game. You run down the clock, kick the field goal, the game ends, the Super Bowl cinematic plays and finishes.

After the game, you watch the game flagged as a suggestion, and any highlights you flagged yourself. You see that Derrick Henry first down. Madden asks you if you want to save the highlight, rate it, name it, and describe it. You say yes, you rate it 10/10, name it "The Truck", and put down "Derrick Henry secures the Super Bowl victory with a vicious Truck Stick on Bobby Wagner."

"The Truck" is saved in a UI screen for "Memorable Plays" with other plays from the season. You get to watch the other plays of the season and vote on the Top 5. After the 2029 season, you vote on the Plays of the Decade.

When you look at the "Memorable Plays" library, you can re-watch all these great highlights and go through them. In Derrick Henry's Player Card, there's a Memorable Plays tab, where you can scroll down and see the play and how it earned him 10 Legacy Points for being a Play of the Week... 50 Legacy Points for being a Play of the Year... 200 Legacy Points for being a Play of the Decade.

Wouldn't that be a cool feature?

That would be incredible for franchises that stretch for a long time. Even show the memorable plays when they're introducing the players at the beginning of the game would be sweet.
• Coach Mode Franchise.

I love Madden, but at times it gets frustrating playing against some really terrific Madden players who are just pro level good at the game. I think there is a decent sized group of people that would like an option to play an online or offline Franchise in Coach mode. A mode where you have zero control over the players. You're A coach/Gm you sign/draft/trade/build your team, and on game day you call the plays on Offense and Defense.

Do you have a young QB who's gun shy, panicky in the pocket, low awareness. Maybe you tailor your play calling to quick/short game, rollouts, etc..

This seems like a super easy completely "OPTIONAL" implementation. Use existing Coach mode in the settings. Take out the ability for any user control for players, and have a league setting to turn on/off. The money route/run and those who are awesome at defender control might hate this, but they can always join their own regular leagues. I can tell you right now if EA did this simple option I'd have easy 30+ friends and fantasy football guys buying an Xbox just to do this. What turns many off is being bad at the video game portion of the game.

Player familiarity with Playbook/Scheme.

Tired of seeing people pickup FA's (even QB's) and they start them the very next game. In real life almost any position there is a period of adjustment where any player needs to learn the system. Not it's week 6, my QB just got hurt and I noticed a 68 rated QB in FA and my backup on my roster since Summer camp is rated 61 so I'll replace him without a hitch. Need a FWS rating (Familiarity with System). If it's low their ratings are affected. If it's average 50-60 they are normal ratings, if it's high maybe they get a small boost since maybe they played in lets say a west coast zone run their whole career.

Custom Schemes or ability to change some roles.

**** If I'm playing a West coast scheme Not every WR should be Route runner. Some teams have a deep threat to spread the D, Some have a Physical tall 50/50 ball guy, all teams have a slot WR, etc.. I really dislike your premade schemes shoehorn in dictated roles. Also add some positions. IE. RB2 is maybe a receiving/slot back like a Tarik Cohen. With this you should have some dynamic playbooks that read what players choose. WR1 Physical, WR2 Deep, WR 3 Route Runner. Then maybe generate a playbook that is designed with these type of routes per what the player selects. Have it pop up, based off your players role selections we have auto generated a playbook designed to best implement your players routes and run types based on the roles you assigned. You can edit this playbook or choose another if you wish.
• I’m glad this thread has been kept alive. Definitely some great suggestions around here. From what I’ve seen, the big 3 boil down to:

1) Coaching details such as a enhanced auto sub systems, a better formation sub system that allows for cross-positional switches, a coaching carousel, advanced custom playbooks including possibly user-generated/coach-specific plays.

2) Player customization regarding abilities, positions, celebrations, and even extra physical changes such as equipment.

3) A more immersive and realistic draft/free agency system.

If I were EA, I would choose one of these three things to focus on implementing each year. By Madden 24/25, we should have a very well-rounded franchise mode. I know I’d love it.
• A scouting overhaul has been discussed a lot and it is something that needs to be done. Being able to have an idea of how fast a player will be, what their strength is going to be, and injury history could be a great first step into evolving the scouting. Pressing a button 3 times to "fully scout" a player isn't fun and doesn't give you enough to effectively evaluate a player.
