Field goals and extra points(online play)

I'm tired of this game glitching out on me on Field goals and extra points. I have lost 2 close games recently because I can't even hit a Field goal from the 5 yard line. And what makes matter worst when I kick the kickoff the following play,, I get perfect accuracy most of the time. I am losing to kids that are worst than me because I can't even kick the ball.
Example: If I score a touchdown and go for an extra point early in the game, I end up missing, which then forces me to go for 2 points the next time I score.
Which then changes my whole strategy for the rest of the game as I be scared to kick a field goal even if it's close.

I know when I play offline, I get perfect kick accuracy even on all Madden, and I even have my kicker with slow kicker ability which even ticks me off even more. Sometimes the games doesn't even register me hitting the A button on my Xbox controller (or X on PlayStation)

When this stuff happens , I get very frustrated and even feel like selling my system. And plus it ruins my Weekend league stats, bad enough I have to deal with super teams, I have to play against the computer too.

And I just finished playing against someone today, and he went for a kick to finish out the game with like 30 seconds remaining. I had 3 timeouts and I couldn't even call a timeout or pause the game to call a timeout.somehow he was able to run down the last 32 seconds and I couldn't even stop the clock. He ended up beating me by 1 point and I missed 2 extra points earlier I the game which made matters worst.

There's also more than just missing a point, or Field goal. You lose " momentum ", usually when something bad happens to your team, the other team plays better the following plays and could get a big run or 1 play touchdown. Part of its, it's because us humans get upset and get caught on our heels following play. But another part of the game, it's the games have a hidden momentum factor in these games. Some people call it AI, but it's been part of this game for over 20 years. If something goes bad, game becomes like quicksand and you have to fight your way out of it. Which is completely not fair, because glitching extra points are hurting you team and momentum.

I would recommend, a automatic kicker option with a 75-77 percentage or so to get kick in, depending on your kicker stats, yard line, wind and spot of the ball.

I know the game will run your play automatically if you run a play on 1st, 2nd or 3rd down and computer will run everything if you don't touch the controller.

I would kindly like this option. I rather let the computer go for my extra point at a 75-85 chance of getting in. Than a 50/50 random chance to wait if the computer and online play would glitch me. I be playing in front of my friends sometimes and we guess if the game will glitch my kicks or not. And again this rarely ever happens on kickoffs and my internet really ever lags, only on kicks for some reason.

Dear EA, I like to kick the ball and play realistic then going for it in 4th down and going for 2 points when I don't want to. You are forcing to play " foosball" . I want to play real football. Run the ball, play defense and kick field goals. Old school and you are not letting me play that way.

Sad for you if you are American. I play from Europe. PvP kicks are a lottery for me due to geographical latency, despite 0% packet loss. Either do-able the entire game pressing 0.5 seconds too early, or 🤬 the entire game. The next game 60 seconds may be the total contrast. I am forced to try for risky and unwanted 2-pointers much of the time in M21 PvP. All M21 PvP games are degrees of sluggishness. Some I quit really early as totally unplayable and not fun, regardless of kicks. I assume it depends whether I get an East or West coast server.

Ethernet may help your kicks if you do not already use it, preferably >Cat6, or perhaps your ISP latency and/or packet loss is just really poor.

In my case, I cannot blame EA for living 000's miles away from their US servers. At least EA Battlefield servers are often EU based. Sucks for Madden though, so I can relate @jaymoe316 to your frustration.

I don't know too much about packet lost or ISP latency. I guess I can get a spare tv and move my system across the house and try hard wiring it. It just stinks as I got my internet upgraded recently just so I wouldn't have this problem as much. Also annoying that I will have to move my system and play on a smaller tv every time I have to play online.

I don't have any problems with any other games or apps which frustrates me even more. Or my other systems as well just this game and it's my favorite game. I just want to play on an even playing field without worrying about the computer trying to screw me over.

All I would like is an automatic kick feature based on kickers ratings , wind and spot of the ball. I make 99 percent of my kicks offline and even 50 yard or longer kicks which frustrates me even more.

They have that for every other play but kicks.

I don't even need abilities on my kicker offline. I put abilities on my kicker just to try to help me for online play and the game still cheeses me from time to time.

Your problems may not be mine, but it does sound as though you rely on wifi for M21, so an ethernet test is a sensible one.

Higher download speeds are rarely the holy grail to PvP online gaming, it's throughput that solves more issues. Just 'borrow' a long enough Cat6+ ethernet cable (friend/Amazon/IT shop/workplace) to test hardwiring your existing pc to your router before moving heavy stuff around, it may not help - it could just as easily be your router bottlenecking for example! Or borrow a laptop that would easily reach your router?

for me, it is completely the same @DJ_Englishman. not only kicks, but literally everything. and I'd also guess that the non-usered players seem to be affected by bad latency too. if the lags are completely obvious (why else do my DL men react a full second after I do an adjustment?) every single blocking attempt fails, every contested catch is dropped by my WRs, every contested catch is caught by my opponent's WR. It feels like playing uphill and it is just so frustrating when I cannot do anything. yesterday my 99 CB Deion Sanders and Rod Woodson were steadily beat by 61 WRs and TEs. I won the game easily anyways, but that's so ... unbelievable.

I have no fun playing H2H. the passing game is almost unusable due to this completely unpredictable timing issue. I do play H2H from time to time to get some trophies, but if I play H2H, then mainly House Rules. the player base is broader there and I do not face fully upgraded teams and players doing this cover 1 or 2 man press all the time. it is a pity that games that might be interesting in terms of opponent's skills and team OVR (similar to mine) are completely worthless to play for me. and if I face a team with lower OVR and dominate him/her just because my players are faster, ... I honestly can't be happy about it when my opponent is simply without a chance either; although (s)he might be a better player than me...

since there is no other (MUT) mode available either that provides both a challenge and fun (Solo Challenges are much too easy as soon as you have a good OVR; Solo Battles provide so weird incentives if you want to get good rewards, so they are no fun either). in principle, Solo games against good teams could be fun if the AI wasn't that worse. a football game where your opponent does not adjust even a little bit depending on what one is doing, well... and even worsening, the AI defense can almost perfectly be read since the players are positioned on the exact same place every time a play is called ...

I really do not understand it how EA can sell a game worldwide while the servers are all placed in the US. and even more I do not understand it, how they can sell a football game with an AI without any adjustments, stupid movements or no reactions of AI-controlled players, "point coverage" instead of zone coverage, ...

at the moment, I do not see any reason why I should buy a Madden game next year again... it's a shame...

ps: at the moment I'm again in one of my Madden phases of deep frustration; and I feel like being Mr Hyde again. maybe it is related to the Madden tournament this weekend. I really do not like it that the focus of this game is just on competitive gaming.... I hope one of my Dr.Jekyll phases will come back soon...

Yeah @Neo_Novalis I hear that. This year my interest in MUT has already dwindled significantly. Last year I lasted until the draft promo. This year I will stop much, much sooner, 100% before 1st May. Although NFL is my favourite sport, and even expecting next-gen version on pc for M22, I am firmly in the "Madden's more frustrating and than fun anymore" camp. Sadly, a different game beckons for 2021. (If my willpower can hold out!)

Just played a game. I made a 45 field goal and a 52 yard field goal in the 1st half, but yet I went for a game winning field goal in the 2 yard line and game glitched me out with less than 30 seconds left on the game. To make matters worse ,I had 3 time outs left and person kneed the ball and I could not even call a timeout. There's is a glitch or cheese in this game that people are exploiting as this is the second time, I have been cheesed or cheated like this. Perfect accuracy for the 1st 3 quarters and can't even kick from inside the 5 yard line in the 4th quarter. What the heck EA.... Stop wasting 45 minutes of my life for the game not to end fairly.

Why can't you call a timeout sometimes or pause this game in the 4th quarter?? After button mashing the timeout and the pause button??? Multiple times knowing that you have time outs.

I'm not exactly sure whether I got your issue correctly, but if your opponent selects "no huddle offense" after kneeling down, the next play is called immediately and you do not have a chance to call timeout. that's really a glitch that might be exploited in H2H ...

good question!

in principle, that should not be a big issue to solve. but ... frankly, I see so many bugs and glitches in this game that I'm not sure whether the dev team even has the time and ressources to work on bugs like this.

Just lost another game by 1 point on a stupid glitched extra point. Miss extra point to tie game. Guy kneed the ball out to run out clock and beat me by 1.

What a great game you made EA sports.
