I have heard there is a way to combat that form of cheating, though I have only tried it once, and it was successful. Once you see what they are doing you can supposedly allow ALL replays to happen naturally without using the X/A button AT ALL. Let EVERY single thing happen on its own (replays, cut scenes, intermissions, etc) and that seems to be the key from what I've heard.

I'd be curious to know if this DOESN'T work for somebody.

I was just holding the puck. But every now and then he would get it, and either put it in his own net or flip it over the glass.
