Well, one of the problems inherent with online is that there's always a delay. But on top of that there's the added factor of the game being automated for a lot of a player's input.
I get that this is done to "assist" the human. Sometimes things happen very fast on the screen and with online delay, it can be difficult to react in time. But having the game control our action without the possibility to CANCEL out of it is probably one of the most frustrating things to have to deal with. Especially with the goalies, even though this happens with regular skaters too and it tends to result in weird things like spins when we don't want them or our skater suddenly lunging out of position trying to follow an AI lane.
There needs to be more leniency in being able to cancel out of an auto-animation/save and into a manual animation/save. So many times I've had the game "react" for me on the initial shot and there's no possibility for me to change the reaction, which as I've done many times playing in nets in real life. But in this game... It's almost impossible. I've done it on occasion, like this:
Those occasion need to be much easier to pull off. Especially in this game that moves so much faster than real life. Again, I understand WHY the game needs to assist us, but OUR inputs need to take PRIORITY over the game's assisted inputs.
If the devs solve that particular conundrum, things will become much less frustrating for us all.
Jesus Jon not you!
Im not sure if I know what that "fun" word means anymore. But I think my head might explode if I hear that word again.
Anw, seems like hockey alone is not "fun" enough for you people, so you have to make it look this silly.
Every time you post, it's incomprehensible how out of touch you are.
Remember how NHL 11 had such a huge community of people who were very much new to hockey, and would ask questions for help to understand things? How many people who played this game, NHL 17, beyond the first month are casuals or not so familiar with the sport?
Was NHL 11 arcade at the core? Absolutely. But it was a good representation of the sport when two teams that approached it as if it were real life, played each other. You simply dont see this ever since next gen, as the game seems to punish real hockey. That is the issue here.

I don't agree with everything Neo posts, but you're the one that thought the tie-up feature was implemented fine. It seems you're the one that is horribly out of touch... either that or you drink the kool-aid for a free trip and a game every year. Either way, you're a horrible voice to be representing the community as a gamechanger.
And now that the thread has been derailed I will see you again when more relevant information is presented about goalies.
Always good when a MOD derails the thread but gets on everyone else for the same exact thing
He stepped down a while ago. His profile probably hasnt been updated though because EA doesnt pay much attention to that kind of stuff lol. Anyways, i suppose ill lock the thread now.
