SICK

Very fun game mode.

Feels like playing on the outdoor rink, wide open, lots of room and more ice for some nice moves!

Tonnes of fun!

With clunky TPS and the mess it is, 6v6 is a cluster f#$k, 3v3 seems will open up the ice and TPS may seem less of a problem because of the extra space.

Im still disappointed EA didn't address TPS or vision control, they are the biggest complaint each year since they introduced it yet they ignore us and don't fix it.

I'm loving 3v3 offline. It feels fun. Going to play the other modes tonight
  • yeah 3v3 felt way better than 6vs6. only thing that bothers me is the penalties. it should be 2vs3 not 3vs4 with added bot. hes only in the way. 2vs3 or 1vs3 and it feels more like power play and you have to be more careful not to take stupid penalties.
  • 3v3 club drop in was a lot of fun.

I really wish there was a drop in mode for arcade 3's though.

  • And what about 2v2 next year guys.. even more space and fun no? :P :D
Who the puck cares that it's not hockey game anymore Lol

Not hockey anymore? C'mon don't be ridiculous. They have injected some much needed fun back into this game. No one is forcing you to play 3's anyway, and 6's isn't going anywhere.

  • There's nothing like universal "fun" for everyone. This nonsense should die finally. What is fun for you or me might be nightmare for somebody else.
Also how's that good news that "it's not going anywhere"? I wish it would go forward, improve significantly.
  • You've just proven your own point that not everyone has the same opinion of fun. Up until now, the only option we have had for eashl is 6v6. EA has given us another option to make a fun game for people like myself.

There a lot of people like me who don't have the time or ability to play 6's or organize a club, and 6's drop in basically was a nightmare for someone like me.

I am thrilled that EA has given us another option so that we can play quicker games in an arcade style or more traditional style.

Try to be open minded instead of just saying this nonsense should die, when it literally hasn't even been out for more than 24 hours.

Even if they injected some fun back into the game, you need to remember it was EA who leached it out of it in the first place... or are you one of those people who find real ice hockey boring? I know it's not for everybody, and that's ok.

I would have been more ok with this mode, if they had made it into a street hockey style game (maybe even with kids playing), instead of this show-wrestling on ice. And I dont' like that I have to pay for it to get NHL18 at all, when I think that they could have used the time to make the core engine better.

This hasn't been a decent hockey game for years, they obviously don't care about making the game play properly and realize that much better games like Rocket League are doing well. So if they aren't going to fix the most glaring issues like control/skating then this is really the next best thing.
  • Bottom line for 3v3 is less AI players to frustrate you while you're trying to play with friends. Not every club has 6 players to get on and play, or even 5 that can get on at the same time. Theres nothing wrong with 3s if the AI are useless, this mode bypasses the problem. I for one can't wait to play 3s.

Exactly. There is less AI which means less frustration and fewer opportunities to exploit the AI.

I had a lot of fun playing both eashl 3's and arcade 3's today and that's the most important thing I look for in a game: having fun c

agree. also 10 skaters on ice and this game does not work very well. your constantly bumping into players and its total cluster fuuk at times. the poor skating mechanics make it really hard to navigate through traffic. not talking about deking but to find open space.
3vs3 the game just felt much more fun than the 6vs6 games.

It is because they whether people want to admit it or not improved defense with 5 sitting in the crease. Players get unrealistic stops more often than not. Now with 3s they can be exposed and creativity wins.

And there is some skill back in that creativity again, eh bud? ;)

After playing quite a few 3v3 in club I can honestly say it's this games best improvement aside from the defensive skill stick. So nice getting rid of the AI and having all that space. When we have less guys on this is what we'll be playing.
  • i would have preferred 4 on 4. 3 on 3 is ok, it's nice that theres a little more space but it's just not balanced
